Can I make a return loss measurement with the MS2721B's tracking generator?
Yes, an external bridge is needed to make the measurement. Connect the bridge between the TG output and the spectrum analyzer input. Put a short circuit on the test port. In the Tracking Generator menu press the "S21 Insertion Loss" soft key followed by the "Normalize Off On" soft key to do a normalization sweep. You should end up with a flat line at the 0 dB point on the relative scale that will be displayed on the right side of the screen. Replace the short circuit with the device to be tested and directly read the return loss results in dB.
