What does "narrow" mean in the description of the MU150002A Optical 10G (narrow)module?
answer
The MU150002A module has a filter that covers a standard frequency band, hence, it is called "narrow" type. An ordinary clock recovery frequency (6 to 8 MHz) does not allow accurate jitter measurement. For this reason, 10G/2.5G jitter cannot be measured with the MU150002A. For accurate jitter measurement at 10G (OC-192/STM-64), ITU-T O.172 recommends measurement in the modulation frequency band of 80 MHz. The MU150017A/B wide-band RX mdodule is designed to support this requirement. The filter used in the clock recovery circuit covers a frequency band wider than the standard, hence, the MU150017B module is called the "wide" type.
