Anritsu Introduces 64Gbaud D/A Converter to Generate 128 Gbps PAM4 Signal to Simplify Verification of 400 GbE Devices, Modules, and Systems
New DAC Integrates with MP1800A BERT for Cost-efficient System that Eliminates Complexity Associated with Legacy Alternatives
Richardson, TX – February 2, 2016
Anritsu Company introduces the G0361A, a 64Gbaud 2-bit D/A Converter (DAC) with dual-channel 2x1 multiplexers that can be integrated with the MP1800A BERT Signal Quality Analyzer (SQA) to create the industry’s first solution that supports 128G PAM4 generation and BER tests with accurate jitter injection. The system featuring the G0361A and MP1800A eliminates the complex setup and configuration issues associated with legacy systems while also minimizes capital equipment costs, for more efficient testing of next-generation 400 GbE devices, modules, and systems.
The G0361A easily connects with any of the MP1800A 28/32 Gbit/s multi-channel Pulse Pattern Generator (PPG) modules. With a dual-channel 2x1 multiplexing function in the input section, the G0361A can generate signals ranging from 32 Gbit/s x 4CH NRZ to 128G PAM4 (64Gbaud), supporting easy and low-cost expansion to 128G PAM4 that is required by next-generation 400 GbE testing.
With the introduction of the G0361A, the MP1800A BERT continues to support the needs of engineers designing the next-generation of high-speed products, including interconnects and backplanes. The MP1800A features a flexible platform that incorporates a built-in PPG for generation of the highest-quality, highest-amplitude signals in the industry, as well as an Error Detector (ED) module with the highest input sensitivity available.
Each MP1800A PPG or ED module can be either 1-, 2-, or 4-channels to support multichannel synchronization for up to 8 channels at 32 Gbit/s. With the combination of the new DAC, the MP1800A supports the synchronized multiple 128G PAM4 signals.
