Anritsu’s Lead in IMS Conformance Testing Supports Industry Progress
Anritsu’s ME7834 Protocol Conformance Test system has the highest number of approved IMS test cases for device certification of any test platform, as confirmed at the recent Global Certification Forum (GCF) CAG#38 meeting in Taipei held in April.
Luton, UK - May 19, 2014 - Anritsu’s ME7834 Protocol Conformance Test system has the highest number of approved IMS test cases for device certification of any test platform, as confirmed at the recent Global Certification Forum (GCF) CAG#38 meeting in Taipei held in April. Anritsu’s accomplishment also includes a number of unique and industry first GCF approvals for this technology.
IMS and Voice over LTE (VoLTE) have become increasingly important because LTE networks have no native voice solution. As carriers look to efficiently manage their spectrum through re-farming of frequencies used for legacy networks, IMS and VoLTE will be used to maintain services and add benefits not previously available. With commercial deployments of VoLTE completed in Korea and more in planning throughout the rest of the world, it is essential to the industry that the GCF and North American focussed PTCRB are able to provide the certification frameworks for IMS capable devices.
Anritsu has built on its recent success with the world’s first IMS Emergency Services test case validation which was approved by the PTCRB in March. Approved test cases are now available for the GCF work items covering Mobile Telephony Service over IMS (MTSI), SMS over IMS, Emergency Call over IMS and [IMS] Service Specific Access Control of which the latter two are unique to Anritsu.
“We are very proud of our focus on new technologies. Considering this latest news in association with market leading validation numbers for LTE-Advanced Carrier Aggregation in both GCF and PTCRB it is clear Anritsu is meeting its goal to provide the industry with the earliest opportunity to prepare and certify devices in all key leading edge technologies.” Said Patrick Manfredi, Director of Product Management at Anritsu’s Wireless Protocol Test group.
Anritsu’s ME7834 is a flexible test system focused on both Protocol Conformance Test (PCT) and Carrier Acceptance Test (CAT). Users worldwide have selected the ME7834 for coverage of thousands of LTE and UTRAN test cases to ensure that devices operate properly in a variety of network deployments. This market-leading test capability includes test packages for LTE CAT and PCT. Test coverage available on the ME7834 includes leading LTE/LTE-A technologies, such as Carrier Aggregation and VoLTE. The ME7834 is GCF- and PTCRB-validated, as well as carrier-approved.
