Anritsu adds Support for the latest GSM Association Roaming performance reports to its MasterClaw OSS product

MasterClaw® now supports Release 3.0 of the Global Roaming Quality specification, as specified by the GSM Association. Global Roaming Quality reports enable carriers to compare like-for-like performance indicators for voice, data and SMS services provided to inbound and outbound roamers.
Roaming, the ability of a customer to continue to use their mobile device when outside the coverage of their home network, is a vital part of today’s mobile service. It also generates significant revenues for network operators. These days, to experience poor quality of service while roaming is as unacceptable to a customer as when they are at home. The mobile device has become a utility relied upon for business and pleasure. But when subscribers do not receive the flawless communication they expect, what is the fastest way to discover where the problem has occurred so it can be quickly corrected?
Anritsu’s MasterClaw now supports all KPIs applicable for a passive monitoring system, after the release of the latest version of the GSM Association’s GRQ Specifications. The specifications are a set of standard metrics and reports that enable Communication Service Providers (CSPs) to compare the quantity and reliability of services provided to roaming subscribers. The measurements are vendor independent and ensure that the customer’s home network and the visited network are measuring performance in exactly the same way.
