The Signal Analyzer MS2830A-044/045 includes a spectrum analyzer function with upper frequency limits of 26.5 GHz and 43 GHz. Combining it with the External Mixer MA2740C/MA2750C series supports measurements up to 325 GHz. Additionally, the excellent dynamic range and wide measurement span required for measuring wireless backhaul and automotive radar are supported by the High Performance Waveguide Mixer MA2808A (60 to 90 GHz). It supports measurements of Tx characteristics, including adjacent channel leakage power, spectrum mask, and frequency counts, as well as spurious measurements.

Yes, just don't exceed the maximum voltage that is normally described on the spectrum analyzer port

Can I use Master Software Tools to retrieve saved measurements from my Cable and Antenna Analyzers (Site Masters, BTS Masters, Cell Masters) PIM test sets, LMR Masters, and VNA Masters?

While Master Software Tools can work with some of these traces, Line Sweep Tools is the ideal PC Tool for these instruments. Line Sweep Tools can retrieve, view, analyze, and report on Cable and Antenna traces from the Site Master, Cell Master, BTS Master, LMR Master, and VNA Master. Does Master Software Tools (MST) convert drive test data to EDX (SignalPro) format? This is just an ASCII file format.

I have been using Handheld Software Tools to retrieve measurement saved in my Site Master (S331D, S332D, S311D, S312D, S325D, S810D and S820D), Spectrum Master (MS2711D) and Cell Master (MT8212B) products. Can I use Line Sweep Tools to do the same?

  Yes, Line Sweep Tools is the updated version of Handheld Software Tools. I recently downloaded ver. 2.13 of Master Software Tools and I noticed a new item on the file menu called "Export To Google". I cannot find any reference to this in the documentation, nor on your internet site. Does this export to Google Maps? If so, please tell me how to use it. When I click on that item on the file menu, nothing happens.

In the S412D exists Option 522, Talk-Out Coverage mode. If one saves a display while in this mode, it will show in the MST list as a type P25 file. Transferring this P25 file into MST will show the trace. In the toolbar above the trace will appear a green flag. Clicking on the green flag will present three options: Export to Google, Export to MapInfo, Export to CSV. Export to Google will export the trace file to a .kml file, which can be read by Google Earth, and will display a map of yellow pushpins that shows where the trace data was recorded.

I am using a 37247C in a automated testing environment. During my test the VNA goes into a Calibrating IF mode and this interrupts the timing of our test. Is there a way to turn off the Calibrating IF?

Yes. After performing a VNA calibration and before starting your test do the following key entries. Option-->>Trigger-->>Auto IF Cal-->>OFF This is applicable to all 37000A/B/C/D instruments.

At Harris Microwave we recently received some power sensors from you. They are MA2442D sensors but they have a sticker that has a SC7400 part number adhered to the sensor over the MA2442D part number. What is this? I do not find anything on your website referring to this part number.

This was a special request for Harris Microwave. The sensor goes from 100 KHz to 18 GHz. There would not be anything on our site about this as it was a special request. The power sensor Model SC7400 has the following specification changes, compared to the standard MA2442D: Frequency Range - 100 KHz to 18 GHz Dynamic Range (dBm) - -45 to +20 Maximum DC Voltage - +2 V 100 KHz Cal Factor Uncertainty - 2.04%

I am having trouble performing TX testing on the MT8860B even though RX testing works fine. Is there a setting I have to change to allow the TX testing to occur?

TX testing can be done in one of two ways. It can either be done as a continuous TX test or as a packet loopback TX test. The continuous TX test requires putting the DUT into a transmit state. This often requires specific software from the DUT manufacturer. Contact the manufacturer to get this software. Packet loopback testing does not require any special software. It only requires that you configure the DUT IP address properly. That makes this the preferable test type in most cases. To configure packet loopback testing, click the Configure Loopback button. If the device you are testing is an access point, you will need to know the address of the access point so you can type that address into the DUT IP Addr: field. Often this address is 192.168.1.1, but your address may differ. Otherwise, if the DUT is connected to the same computer you are running LanLook on, clicking List IP Addresses... can be helpful. After doing so, select the DUT from the list. If the DUT is not in this list, or if the DUT is connected to another computer, use the windows command ipconfig to find the IP address that has been assigned to the DUT and type that value into the DUT IP Addr.: field. Press Auto Set Base IP Addr. then press OK. At this point, the test configuration is properly set up for packet loopback TX testing, and you should be able to run the test properly.

Is a USIM card needed for receiver sensitivity measurements of WCDMA User Equipment?

Yes, the receiver sensitivity is measured in loop-back condition of W-CDMA terminal using a test USIM. Anritsu can supply a card as an accessory, model number P0019.

Is testing of TS34.121.7.2 and TS34.121.7.8 possible using an MT8820A?

7.2 Demodulation in Static Propagation conditions can be measured with a MT8820A. 7.8 Power Control in the downlink cannot be measured with an MT8820A..

Is the P0019 USIM card only used for WCDMA UE testing?

Yes. This memory card conforms to the 3GPP standard. It can not be used for GSM.

How can I change the output level of the signal generator in the W-CDMA measurement software in the MT8820A?

The level can be changed in the following manner: Press the [Output Level] key.Then enter the desired level from the number keypad on the unit. To set the new value, press the [Set] key .

How do you setup the Audio measurement in the GSM mode on the MT8820A?

Set the Audio Parameter as [VoiceCodec]. Audio Input/Output of Audio Parameter is changed to [Handset] from [AF]. The Codec chooses is then set as[EFS]. TCH Test Patten is set as VoiceCodec. When the terminal is connected it is now possible to examine the audio.
