I keep getting a "No Hardware Found" error when trying to connect my MS46122A. How do I fix this?

The issue occurs when the user tries to connect the MS46122A with Windows 8, 8.1 or 10, an error message may appear that suggests that there is no hardware connected to the controller PC. For MS46122A using Windows 8, 8.1, or 10, please follow this manual driver procedure before installing ShockLine software.

How do I get my MS2721B to use a manual ethernet address after I enter one?

After you enter the ethernet address you want to use (i.e. 10.0.0.2) you must restart the unit on a live ethernet connection. You can use the crossover cable to connect to your computer's ethernet port as a live port, but only if you are assigning an address. If you use the DHCP (dynamic host control protocol), you must hook to a live ethernet connection that allows for DHCP requests.

We have a requirement for 2 CW RF microwave signals to be applied 90 degrees out of phase with each other into either end of a device under test. How can this be achieved?

This can be achieved with a pair of MG369XB's with the low band option (either option 4 or 5) and the Phase Tracking Special, SM5815.  With this special the phase difference between the synthesizers can be set either from the front panel or programmed over GPIB. 

The MA2474D specifies a "rise time" of 4 us at 0 dBm room temperature but gives no definition. Can you define it?

Rise time is defined as, the time interval necessary for the power sensor to rise from 10% to 90% of the reading when the signal rises instantaneously from zero (no power) to 1 mW (0 dBm).

I am using the Tripp Lite USB to serial adapter. I have verified the adapter is installed properly and the adapter shows up on Com 4 on my PC under Ports (Com & LPT). The port setting is port 4 in HHST. I have all baud rates set correctly and I still get an error in serial communications after several seconds.

If you have a wireless device enabled on your PC or laptop this can interrupt the serial communication.  Go to Network connections and verify your Wireless Network connection type LAN or high speed internet is disabled.  Even it says disconnected you should disabled it.  This has been known to help in cases where everything is set up properly.  Wireless devices such as Palm Pilots can cause this also so disable all wireless devices that you use.

I am using a VISTA 64 bit operating system and Delorme USB to serial adapter and I cannot get HHST to work.

HHST is compatible with VISTA 32 bit operating systems but not with VISTA 64 bit OS.  Also per Delorme their USB to serial adapter is not compatible with VISTA 32 or 64.

When testing with an MT8852B Bluetooth tester, can I perform continuous transmitter tests on un-packetized data?

Yes, you can, by using the "CW measurement" mode. Press the Config hardkey. Then use the arrow keys to select MT8852B, then press Sel. Use the arrow keys to select CW Measurement, then press Sel. This puts the unit into continuous measurement mode. From here you need to select the modulation type and the channel number that the DUT is transmitting on. When everything is set up, press Enter to start measurements. Measurements of power, frequency and modulation are made continuously.

What is the RF loss on the adapter 34VKF50?

The typical insertion loss is 0.5dB per adapter.

Can the date and time be set on the S235A?

The operation of setting date and time is not available for this model

Will the S332E CW sig gen option generate a CW signal without the sig gen kit?

Yes it will. The output will be an unleveled signal and the level will be dependent on the battery voltage.

What is the part number for the MA24106A calXpert software?

CalXpert software is part number 2300-528

Why am I seeing an error on voltage when I power up my S820A that I am charging with a 40-168-R charger?

It is OK to use this charger to charge the battery but when testing remove the AC/DC supply so the error will go away. The correct power supply for the S820A is part number 40-115.

I want to do headset audio testing on a stand alone box; will the MT8852B do this for me?

Yes the MT8852B is capable of audio testing. Depending on the level, and detail of the signal analysis required, an additional audio generator and analyzer may be needed.

Can you tell me the difference between the 2000-767-R and the 2000-1618-R?

The only difference is the frequency range. The 2000-767 is DC to 4 GHz and the 2000-1618-R is DC to 6 GHz. There is also a female 7/16 Open/Short/Load part number 2000-768-R and 2000-1619-R. 2000-768-R frequency range is DC to 4GHz and 2000-1619-R is DC to 6GHz.

Can you tell me the difference between the 2000-767-R and the 2000-1618-R?

The only difference is the frequency range. The 2000-767 is DC to 4 GHz and the 2000-1618-R is DC to 6 GHz. There is also a female 7/16 Open/Short/Load part number 2000-768-R and 2000-1619-R. 2000-768-R frequency range is DC to 4GHz and 2000-1619-R is DC to 6GHz. Related Products: 2000-1618-r, osl-series

In the MS272xB frequency menu there is a soft key labeled "Channel --". What is it used for?

The channel value is used in conjunction with a signal standard such as CDMA to easily tune to a particular channel number associated with that channel. The user doesn't need to know the frequency of a particular channel, just the channel number for a particular air interface standard.

Does the MD1260A support GbE and 10GbE mapping inside of an OTU4 signal?

Yes, with options -002, -005, -006, and -007, you can map a 1G, 10G, and 100G ethernet frame inside of the OTU4 signal.

Can I use a MS272XB spectrum analyzer to measure noise figure?

Yes, with limitations. A spectrum analyzer can be used to measure the noise figure of a device with a significant amount of gain. The basic method is to start by measuring the noise floor of the instrument with a termination on the input. It is best to do this with attenuation set to 0 dB and the preamplifier turned on with a high averaging value (say, 100 or more). Turn on a marker along with a delta marker and set the marker type to FIXED. Next, connect the ampifier to be measured to the spectrum analyzer's input and move the termination to the input of the amplifier. Restart averaging and wait for the averaging to complete. The delta marker value will be the noise figure of the DUT plus the spectrum analyzer's noise figure divided by the gain of the amplifier. This method isn't suitable for low gain devices because of the "second stage contribution" of the spectrum analyzer.
