Anritsu and CANDOX Systems Validate Feasibility of Production Testing for 60 GHz Radar and Sensor Devices

10/09/2026
~Maintains correlation with certification measurements without requiring large anechoic chambers~

Morgan Hill, CA – October 8, 2026 – Anritsu , in collaboration with CANDOX Systems Inc. (hereafter CANDOX Systems), evaluated a chamberless production testing solution for 60 GHz radar and sensor products and verified its effectiveness. The evaluation confirmed that production testing can be performed without requiring large anechoic chambers while ensuring correlation with certification measurement results under Japan's Radio Act.

To calculate the differences between measurement results obtained using this solution and those obtained through the certification test methods specified under Japan’s Radio Act, measurements were conducted at the laboratory of TÜV Rheinland Japan Ltd., an independent third-party certification body. Based on these results, Anritsu confirmed a correlation between the two measurement methods.
The 60 GHz radar and sensing market continues to expand across a wide range of applications, including vital-sign detection, motion sensing, security systems, and industrial equipment. As production volumes increase, manufacturers face growing challenges in reducing test system footprint and capital investment while building a production test environment that ensures correlation with certification measurement results under Japan’s Radio Act.

The evaluation was conducted using Anritsu’s millimeter-wave measurement solution based on its signal analyzer together with CANDOX Systems’ 60 GHz near-field probe.

Difference data was obtained by comparing the far-field measurement results used in the certification test methods specified under Japan’s Radio Act with measurement results acquired using the near-field probe.

By applying this difference data, the evaluation confirmed that chamberless near-field measurements can ensure correlation with certification measurement results. This approach was also shown to be applicable to production testing in a compact measurement environment without requiring large anechoic chambers.
This solution has the potential to help manufacturers reduce test system footprint, lower capital investment, and improve production efficiency while maintaining confidence in measurement accuracy.

Through continued collaboration with industry stakeholders, Anritsu will continue advancing the validation and practical application of measurement technologies that support the growth of the millimeter-wave sensing market. By supporting customers in product development and production, Anritsu will continue contributing to the adoption and broader market growth of millimeter-wave sensing technologies.
