Anritsu Demonstrating Test Solutions to Address Emerging 400 GbE and Beyond Technologies at OFC 2022

Test Solutions, Thought Leadership Sessions, and Collaborative Demonstrations to Showcase How Global Test Leader is Moving Technology Forward

Allen, TX – March 7, 2022 – Anritsu Company will showcase comprehensive test solutions for all stages of the optical network ecosystem in its corporate village (#1931) at OFC 2022. The global test leader is addressing the verification needs of design engineers developing 400 GbE/800 GbE technologies for emerging telecom and data center applications during the premier optical conference.

To further address the expanding verification needs of the market, Anritsu will host a series of thought leadership sessions at OFC 2022. Additionally, Anritsu will participate in joint demonstrations highlighting 800 GbE technology with SENKO (booth #3239) and Skorpios Technologies, Inc. (booth #5727), as well as be part of automated measurements on an IEEE 802.3 transmitter in the Tektronix booth (#3425). The interactive demonstration being conducted in the Ethernet Alliance booth (#5409) will also feature Anritsu.

Meeting Needs of Emerging Applications

Headlining the test solutions is the Signal Quality Analyzer-R MP1900A, which will be recognized during OFC 2022 with a prestigious Lightwave Innovation Award. The BERT earned a 4.0 score, which designates it as an excellent product with technical features and performance that provide clear and substantial benefits.

The MP1900A will be used as a solution for 400 GbE optical TDECQ test and 400 GbE PAM4 JOTL tests with Forward Error Correction (FEC). Anritsu will also highlight its Network Master™ family for handheld transport and 400 GbE data center test, and VectorStar™ vector network analyzers (VNAs) for 70 GHz O/E E/O measurements.

Additionally, Anritsu will showcase its external fabrication services in its corporate village.

Thought Leadership Sessions

Anritsu will host three 30-minute thought leadership presentations in Theater 2 and 3 on the OFC exhibit floor.

Optical Fiber Communication, a Key Enabler for O-RAN – Sundara Venkatesh, Anritsu Market Development Manager, will lead a presentation on the transport network architecture in O-RAN to highlight optical networking requirements. Front-haul, mid-haul and back-haul transport aspects, along with front-haul requirements on latency, synchronization, range, and mesh architectures will be explored.

400 Gbps Post FEC BER and Jitter Tolerance Test – The presentation will discuss how high-speed and large-capacity transmission standards using PAM4 signaling, such as 400 GbE, stipulate the use of FEC to assure transmission quality. Consequently, jitter tolerance tests for SERDES, DSP, and CDR used by transceivers are required at pre-FEC evaluation of bit error rate performance, as well as at correctable/uncorrectable FEC symbol error performance. The presentation will be given by High-speed and Optical Product Manager and Business Development Manager Hiroshi Goto.

Next-generation Opto-electronic Devices Measurement Challenges – Benchtop VNA Product Marketing Manager Navneet Kataria will lead the final presentation. Opto-electronic devices provide almost unlimited bandwidth, low loss, low interference, short- and long-distance coverage, and high-speed data transmission capability to bandwidth-hungry data transmissions and high-speed interconnects. This presentation will focus on various advancements in opto-electronic devices, market trends, and focus on measurement challenges.

Joint Demonstrations with Market Innovators

To further highlight market leadership, Anritsu will participate in multiple technology demonstrations throughout OFC.

800 GbE CPO Connectors – In the SENKO booth, the Network Master Pro MT1040A will generate 800 GbE optical traffic and the BERTWave™ MP2110A will make 4-channel Optical TDECQ tests through SENKO Co-package Optical (CPO) connectors.

800 GbE Optical IC Evaluation – Anritsu and Skorpios will conduct a joint live demonstration highlighting emerging 800 GbE technology. The demonstration will feature the Skorpios 800 GbE optical IC and Anritsu MP1900A.

400 GbE Fiber Infrastructure – Anritsu will once again participate in the Ethernet Alliance’s interactive demo highlighting multivendor interoperability across 50 GbE, 100 GbE, 200 GbE, 400 GbE, and 800 GbE technologies. The MT1040A will be in the Ethernet Alliance booth to test 400 GbE ZR digital coherent tunable optics.

IEEE 802.3 Transmitters – The MP1900A PAM4 pulse pattern generator (PPG) will be integrated with a Tektronix DPO700000SX series oscilloscope to conduct automated measurements of an IEEE 802.3 transmitter in the Tektronix booth. The PPG was selected because it generates IEEE 802.3ck-compliant PAM4 signals up to 128 Gbit/s, as well as outputs high-quality PAM4 waveform patterns.
