Allen, TX – February 18, 2020 – Anritsu Company introduces 5G New Radio (5G NR) FDD measurement and waveform generation software for its MS2850A/MS269xA Signal Analyzer series and Vector Signal Generator MG3710E. The new software packages expand the capability of the instruments by providing 5G NR FDD measurement support and signal output for more efficient verification of 5G chipsets, mobile devices, and base station elements.
The Measurement Software NR FDD sub-6 GHz Downlink/Uplink supports easy, fast, and stable analysis of key parameters, such as power, frequency error, and EVM, of sub-6 GHz 5G FDD downlink and uplink signals. The 5G NR FDD sub-6 GHz IQproducer software generates sub-6 GHz 5G FDD downlink and uplink signals for evaluating 5G system transmitter and receiver characteristics.
Various combinations of subcarrier spacing and multi-component carriers can be set on the MS2850A and MS269xA series with the 5G NR FDD measurement software installed. The result is accurate transmission speed measurements. The downlink measurement software measures test model signals in conformance with the 3GPP 5G NR FDD Tx Test according to TS38.141-1 (2019-06). Selecting the Test Model name from the MS2850A/MS269xA GUI simplifies measurements by eliminating the need for complex settings. The Uplink measurement software evaluates the transmission characteristics of 3GPP CP-OFDM and DFT-s-OFDM terminals based on TS38.211 (2019-06).
The 5G NR FDD sub-6 GHz IQproducer supports 5G NR FDD uplink and downlink signals. Waveform patterns for 3GPP NR FDD TRx tests can be created by setting parameters such as Component Carriers, subcarrier spacing, and modulation method. Downloading the waveform patterns to the signal generator outputs the NR FDD standard signals in compliance with 3GPP TS38.211 (2019-06), TS38.212 (2019-06), TS38.213 (2019-06), and TS38.141-1 (2019-06). Additionally, the software can be installed on a PC to generate waveform patterns without a measuring instrument.
Signal Analyzer Overview
The Signal Analyzer MS2850A is a spectrum/signal analyzer with a frequency range of 9 kHz to 32 GHz/44.5 GHz. Its maximum analysis bandwidth of 1 GHz supports wideband communications measurements to provide all-in-one coverage from the sub-6 GHz to millimeter-wave 28 GHz/39 GHz bands. With excellent cost-performance, the benchtop instrument reduces development and production costs while improving efficiency.
Base unit MS269xA Series Signal Analyzers include swept spectrum analysis, FFT signal analysis, and a precision digitizer function. The instruments support a standard analysis bandwidth of 31.25 MHz that can be extended to 62.5 MHz/125 MHz. Using a patented calibration process, the multipoint amplitude calibration and the phase calibration result in best-in-class level accuracy of ±0.5 dB across a 6 GHz span.
Vector Signal Generator Overview
The Vector Signal Generator MG3710E is a best-in-class, multi-function, signal generator with excellent RF and baseband performance. It supports all key mobile communications and WLAN standards, and has the high performance required for emerging and proprietary wireless communications technologies. Dual RF and Dual Waveform options enable a single MG3710E to output up to four independently modulated signals.
