Anritsu Collaborates with KDDI on IoT Lab Tests
Global Test Leader will Support Performance Tests for 3GPP Standardized Communications Chips
Richardson, TX – March 1, 2017 – Anritsu Corporation is partnering with KDDI to support connection performance and power consumption tests for Low Power Wide Area (LPWA) IoT devices.
The LTE standards typically used by chip vendors and manufacturers for IoT are standardized by 3GPP as Cat.1, Cat.1+eDRX and Cat.M1. To perform low-power consumption performance tests on an IoT device utilizing these communication chips, the device under test (DUT) must be connected to an Anritsu base station simulator via over-the-air (OTA) interface.
Anritsu began targeting the latest Cat.M1 and Cat.1+eDRX communication standards for IoT at an early stage. Following the support of the base station simulators used in tests with KDDI, Anritsu plans to support radio communications analyzers and conformance test systems. Anritsu will also continue to provide total measurement solutions for R&D and I&M of IoT devices for various Smart Home, Smart Factory and Smart City applications.
