Anritsu Enhances Spectrum Analyzer/Signal Analyzer For More Comprehensive Wireless Component Verification
New Internal Signal Generator Control Function for MS2830A Expands Measurement Capabilities for Evaluation of Filter, Amplifier, Cable and Antenna Characteristics
Richardson, TX – October 26, 2016 – Anritsu Company introduces an Internal Signal Generator Control Function for its Spectrum Analyzer/Signal Analyzer MS2830A that allows engineers to more efficiently verify transmission characteristics of wireless system components. The new option expands the measurement capabilities of the MS2830A and provides wireless device and system manufacturers with an accurate solution to evaluate radio filters, amplifiers, cables and antennas designed into wireless devices and systems.
The new signal generator control function complements the internal high-performance spectrum analyzer of the MS2830A to create a single-instrument solution that reduces manufacturing infrastructure expenses and lowers cost-of-test. A key benefit is the availability of a return loss bridge (SWR Bridge) that supports reflection characteristic measurements for more comprehensive evaluation.
Precise measurements of both passive and active devices are assured due to a high-performance signal source that is either a vector signal generator or analog signal generator with a frequency range of 100 kHz to 3.6 GHz/6 GHz, output level range of -136 to +15 dBm, step resolution of 0.01 dB and level accuracy of +/-0.5 dB. Using a digital IF with a linearity error of ±0.7 dB, the MS2830A can accurately display results of frequency characteristics.
A Normalize function is included in the option to calibrate the insertion loss of cables used when making measurements for improved accuracy. To measure the -3 dB bandwidth of the bandpass filter cutoff frequency, a N dB Bandwidth Measurement function is incorporated, as well. A Correction Value Capture function allows engineers to obtain measurement path correction value.
