Richardson, TX – October 25, 2016 – Anritsu Company announces that its Signal Quality Analyzer (SQA) MP1800A BERT is being used during the 30th InfiniBand™ Compliance and Interoperability Plugfest hosted by the InfiniBandSM Trade Association (IBTA) at the University of New Hampshire Interoperability Lab (UNH-IOL), in Durham, NH, from October 17-28. The MP1800A is being used during the compliance portion of the Plugfest, which creates a technically sophisticated environment to determine if products perform according to the InfiniBand architecture specifications, as well as to ensure compatibility between InfiniBand products.
The MP1800A is part of three stations verifying the performance of high-speed cables and connectors during the Plugfest. To test 40 Gb/s QDR and 56 Gb/s FDR InfiniBand cables, the MP1800A BERT features a built-in 3-channel Pulse Pattern Generator (PPG) and is integrated with the MP1825B 4-tap Emphasis, synthesizers and a jitter modulation source. For verification of 100 Gb/s EDR Active InfiniBand cables, the BERT is configured with an internal 2-channel 32G PPG, built-in 4-channel 32G Error Detector (ED), as well as a second synthesizer for the counter propagating aggressors and a jitter modulation source.

One key feature of the MP1800A for the Plugfest is the BERT’s ability to produce a mask-compliant eye with good repeatability and reproducibility. Other features that make the MP1800A well suited for verifying high-speed interconnects and cables are its automated generation of the stressed data and the high performance multi-channel error detectors with 10 mV sensitivity that shortens evaluation times and improves evaluation quality.
