Bluetooth Market Expected to See Continued Growth in "06

Bluetooth vendors, still basking in the glow of 2005 when the market doubled, are expected to keep the smiles on their faces this year as well. A new study released by ABI Research concludes that the market for Bluetooth radios will exceed 500 million radio shipments this year ? a growth rate of 70%.

The good news doesn't end there, either. According to the report, the Bluetooth market will experience a compound annual growth rate of more than 40% between 2004 and 2011. While handsets and headsets will be responsible for most of the gains, new applications, such as games, are also expected to play a role.

This type of growth requires manufacturing processes to operate at peak performance and for products to be highly reliable. That creates a challenge for test manufacturers, who must develop test tools that are both accurate and fast. Anritsu's MT8852B Bluetooth test set is that kind of instrument.

The MT8852B is the first test instrument with both Bluetooth Enhanced Data Rate (EDR) and Adaptive Frequency Hopping (AFH) testing capability. The ability to conduct EDR and AFH tests
makes the test set a unique verification tool for chip set developers, module manufacturers, and developers of a wide range of consumer products that have Bluetooth interfaces.

Anritsu has been at the forefront of Bluetooth product testing since the development of the technology in the late 1990s. The introduction of the MT8852B builds on the success of the MT8850A Series test sets, used worldwide in engineering development and high volume manufacturing of Bluetooth chipsets and products.
