Why can't I ping the MD8480B and MD8480C the same way?

The MD8480B utilized the last four digits of the serial number in the IP address. For example S/N 6100360790 would be pinged as 1.1.107.190 on the MD8480B and pinged as 1.136.107.190 on the MD8480C.
