Notification of the Impact of the Earthquake off the Pacific Coast of the Tohoku Region
2011/03/15
I would like to express my sincere sympathy to all those who have been affected by the earthquake off the pacific coast of the Tohoku region that occurred on March 11, 2011.
Anritsu will provide its full cooperation and support for the local recovery efforts, while placing the safety of our employees and their family first as we work towards restoring our production system.
Below is an update on the current status of the production base at the Koriyama site, as previously reported on March 14
(1) Efforts to secure the safety of employees
We have confirmed the safety of all employees at the Koriyama site.
Today the Japanese government took emergency measures in response to the current nuclear situation in Fukushima and requested that all residents within a 20-30 km radius of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant to stay indoors until further notice. Although the Koriyama site is located 55 km from the nuclear power plant, there are some employees who live in adjacent areas to the designated zone. As such, in placing priority on the lives of our employees and their families, we have instructed all employees of Koriyama site to leave the Company immediately and remain at home until further notice.
(2) Status of operations
As of March 14, there has been a partial return to normal operation processes. Currently we are working on restarting shipments from March 16.
Anritsu is committed to building a system that will not cause any inconvenience to its customers and business partners. We ask for your continued cooperation and understanding going forward.
