Connectivity & Networking Software for Inspection Equipment

Anritsu inspection equipment can connect to plant networks to transmit and receive data and commands.

QUICCA Software

QUICCA Software

QUICCA is our proprietary software that allows data from our inspection equipment to be viewed from anywhere in the plant, enabling quality, production, and machine status monitoring as well as analytics and reporting. Your team can view current and historical production data on computers or tablets that are connected to the same plant network as the QUICCA server. QUICCA can also archive X-Ray images, allowing valuable references of contaminated products.

EtherNet/IP & OPC-UA

EtherNet/IP & OPC-UA

Anritsu X-Rays, Checkweighers, and Metal Detectors use optional gateway devices to connect the machines to plant data systems. EtherNet/IP and OPC-UA are the supported industry-standard protocols that allow inspection machine data to be transmitted into MES/SCADA systems. Machine commands (e.g., start/stop) can also be sent to the machine over networks.

Examples of Inspection Equipment Connectivity

  • Send Line Data to Plant SCADA System

Some of the world’s largest food companies gather Anritsu inspection data via OPC-UA or EtherNet/IP into SCADA and MES systems for production monitoring, quality analysis, and archiving. This allows the companies to monitor throughput for OEE, quickly catch product quality issues like high reject rates, and identify CCP issues early on.

  • QUICCA3 Production & Quality Software

QUICCA3, our proprietary software for Anritsu equipment, allows customers to actively monitor production and quality activity of X-rays, Checkweighers, and Metal Detectors. From anywhere on the facility network, authorized personnel can view highly visual, real-time status and progress screens that display aggregate, line, and individual machine information. Custom dashboards facilitate rapid responses to instances of contaminated products. Inspection data, including X-ray images, is saved locally for tracking in the event of complaints or recalls.

  • Inspection Equipment Control

One of the most common uses of connecting to Anritsu inspection equipment is the ability to remotely send commands to the machines. For example, this allows a production manager to send a signal to switch inspection presets for product changeovers, which removes the need for operators to manually switch each machine, thus saving time and preventing errors. This capability also allows sending “all stop” signals to all machines simultaneously.
