The Signal Quality Analyzer-R MP1900A series PAM4 BERT is a high-performance bit error rate tester for PHYlayer
evaluation of PAM4 transmissions, such as next-generation 400 and 800 GbE networks. Due to its high
sensitivity-input performance (36 mV EH at 53 Gbaud), it not only supports more accurate jitter tolerance
evaluation, but can also measure FEC Symbol Errors in real-time by addition of the FEC Analysis option; it also
supports jitter tolerance evaluation based on correctable/uncorrectable FEC symbol error count. Additionally, the
FEC Symbol Capture function supports factor analysis of uncorrectable FEC Symbol Errors, such as burst errors.

Data center and network traffic volumes are increasing exponentially as mobile networks start upgrading to 5G and ‘Big Data’ applications become popular. As a consequence, physical-layer devices are required to support faster transmission speeds, larger data capacities, and assured signal quality, in turn making signal integrity analysis ever more important. To meet these needs, Anritsu has implemented more accurate signal integrity tests, such as bit error rate (BER) measurements, crosstalk tests, Jitter Tolerance tests, etc., in its MP1900A test solution for 32G/64G NRZ/PAM4.

This application flyer discusses the Rubidium signal generator that provides two options that users can choose to obtain atomic clock stability, which is an order of magnitude better than a typical OCXO. GNSS/GPS receiver in the instrument, locks to the satellite signal, decodes the 1 PPS reference clock, and disciplines the internal OCXO to the decoded reference. Atomic frequency stability is also provided through a rubidium frequency reference. P/N: 11410-02873
