New V2V and V2I (V2X) Measurement Applications

Anritsu Corporation (President Hirokazu Hashimoto) is releasing a standards-compliant measurement software package on June 15 for evaluating V2V and V2I (V2X) communications to help grow this new market supporting automobile drivers in United States of America, Europe, and Japan.
The developed V2X DSRC Measurement & Analysis System MX727000A software has functions for measuring radio quality and analyzing V2X messages. It is the world’s first V2X application software for measurements and analyses supporting all standards in the three major V2X markets.
Conventional radio evaluations require two instruments, one for measuring radio quality and another for analyzing protocols, when measuring quality and evaluating the protocol layer, causing issues with rising capital investment costs.
Combining the released MX727000A software package with Anritsu’s Signal Analyzer MS269xA solves these issues to help improve V2X communications quality and cut equipment costs.
[Development Background]
IEEE802.11p-compliant Vehicle-to-Vehicle and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2X) services supporting automobile drivers are entering service in Japan, and will be starting soon in America and Europe.
Since each world region uses different standards, automobile makers—and especially those makers selling in international markets—urgently require support for evaluations covering the physical to application layers to facilitate development of in-vehicle and roadside equipment used in America, Europe and Japan.
Anritsu has developed its released V2X DSRC Measurement & Analysis System MX727000A software package for performing evaluations from the physical to application layers to support V2X development under these complex standards and usage-area conditions, and to help cut capital investment costs.
[Product Outline]
The MX727000A package is composed of three applications for displaying data captured by the MS269xA on a PC to support measurements and evaluations covering the V2X physical to application layers: the MX727010A application for linking with the MS269xA and auto-measurement of the physical layer, and the MX727020A/30A/40A software for demodulation and analysis of American, European and Japanese V2X messages, respectively, captured by the MS269xA.
In addition, the MX727050A/MV727050A supports testing of Japanese-standards- compliant messages described in ARIB TR-T20 and ITS Forum RC-011.

[Key Features]
- Supports America, Europe and Japan Standards
The MX727000A package supports V2X services starting in America, Europe and Japan, eliminating the need for separate test instruments for each region and helping cut equipment costs.
- Tests from Physical to Application Layers
Previous systems required separate instruments for measuring the physical layer and evaluating the protocol layer, whereas the MS269xA supports all physical-to-protocol-layer tests.
- World-First Japan Standards Compliant V2X Message Testing
The MX727000A offers world-first support for V2X message test items described in ARIB TR-T20 and ITS Forum RC-011; Pass/Fail is displayed for each test item, which helps improve development efficiency by displaying the fault location when a Fail evaluation occurs.
[Target Users and Applications]
- Target Users:
V2V and V2I equipment vendors, automobile vendors, communications equipment vendors
- Target Applications
Measurement of V2V and V2I communications and analysis of V2X messages
