Anritsu Corporation (President Hirokazu Hashimoto) is pleased to announce that the company's LTE-Advanced RF Conformance Test System ME7873LA has obtained the world's first PTCRB*1 certification as an RF conformance test*2 system for the Three Downlink Carrier Aggregation (3DL CA)*3 technology used mainly by the LTE-Advanced standard*4.
The PTCRB-certified ME7873LA supports 3DL CA tests defined in 3GPP Release 10*5 supporting LTE-Advanced terminals operating on North-American frequency bands. North-American LTE-Advanced terminals must be tested objectively using PTCRB- certified RF conformance test systems to assure that the terminal quality satisfies the 3GPP standards.
By obtaining PTCRB certification for 3DL CA, the ME7873LA will help cut the time to market (TTM) for new products using 3DL CA services expected to start in North America in 2015. Anritsu is focusing its efforts on development of LTE-Advanced conformance test systems to promote further progress and growth in future mobile broadband services.
LTE-Advanced RF Conformance Test System ME7873LA
The ME7873LA is a test platform for assuring that the RF TRX characteristics, performance, etc., of LTE/LTE-Advanced terminals satisfy the 3GPP requirements. Additionally, it is also being used for acceptance inspection tests by mobile carriers worldwide, particularly in North America.
*1 PTCRB: PCS Type Certification Review Board
Standards organization defining network operation and mobile terminal certification tests for assuring global interconnectivity between mobile terminals, particularly for frequency bands used in North America; PTCRB-certified measurement systems and measurement items are guaranteed to have the test performance (measurement procedure and accuracy) required for verification tests of mobile terminals.
*2 RF Conformance Test
Test for verifying that mobile terminal TRX characteristics, performance, etc., meet the 3GPP standards.
*3 3 Downlink Carrier Aggregation (3DL CA)
Carrier Aggregation technology creates a virtual wide bandwidth by aggregating several frequency bands; wireless communications systems can transfer more data at faster speeds as the frequency band becomes wider. 3DL CA aggregates three frequency bands.
