Hazardous Waste Management

The Anritsu Group generates a small amount of hazardous waste*, most of which is generated in the development and manufacturing processes of devices. Anritsu Group is committed to thorough waste management in order to prevent environmental pollution and ensure safety.

*Hazardous waste: The domestic group defines hazardous waste as “specially controlled industrial waste” under the Waste Disposal and Public Cleaning Law (Waste Disposal and Public Cleaning Law)

Storage and Management

When liquid hazardous waste is mixed with foreign components, there is a risk of chemical reactions that can produce gases and heat. Therefore, the department disposing of the waste must clearly identify the ingredients and bring the waste to a storage area controlled by the environmental department.

Disposal is done in the presence of a person in charge of the environmental department, and identical waste liquids are collected in identical containers (e.g., chemical drums). These containers are stored in separate locations for each type of acid, alkali, organic solvent, etc., to prevent the mixing of different liquid wastes. Solid hazardous waste is double-packed to prevent spreading.

At storage locations, collection containers are prevented from tipping over, pits are installed in case of accidental leakage, and locks are kept in place.

Disposal and 3Rs

Hazardous waste is disposed of by contracting with a waste disposal company after confirming with a sample product that it can be disposed of and labeling it with information on its composition and hazardous properties.

Highly pure organic solvent wastes are distilled and reused. Material recycling and thermal recycling are also performed to reduce environmental impact.
