Waste Management

The Anritsu Group properly manages end-of-life products as well as waste generated from its factories and offices in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, and actively uses the 3R (reduce, reuse, recycle) approach to reduce waste emissions, use environmentally friendly materials, and make effective use of resources.

Waste sorting

In order to deal with the negative aspects of the mass consumer society, such as waste problems, the Domestic Group carefully sorts waste for disposal and promotes recycling. Each district has its own waste disposal rules, depending on the type of waste and the disposal method used by the contractor. Each site sort waste into 30 to 40 categories and make efforts to recycle. We work to ensure thoroughness by raising awareness among employees and displaying sorting charts with pictures and photos.

Working to strengthen the 3Rs

We have achieved zero waste emissions* since 2004. We are working to improve the quality of our recycling ( changing our approach from thermal recycling to material recycling and bottle-to-bottle recycling of PET bottles) and to increase our efforts to reduce waste (introducing reusable boxes, reducing single-use plastic waste such as packaging, etc.).

* zero waste emissions : Condition in which the percentage of waste placed directly in landfills or simply incinerated is less than 0.5%

We have established the Zero Plastic Waste Policy in 2023, which aims to achieve zero plastic waste by fiscal 2030. We are working to achieve zero plastic waste from packaging for products and purchased parts, as well as from plastic bottles used at business sites and food packaging used in cafeterias.

Zero Plastic Waste activity

Compliance with waste-related laws and regulations

We comply with the Act on Waste Management and Public Cleansing to prevent illegal dumping. The Environmental Department provides training to relevant personnel on topics such as managing contracts with collection and transport contractors and waste disposal contractors, managing waste manifests and checking the industrial waste disposal contractor permits of contractors, and internal audits are used to check the implementation status. In addition, the status of contractors is investigated and audited every three years.

Recycling End-of-Life Products

In 2000, ANRITSU KOUSAN CO., LTD. established a Recycling Centre with the aim of promoting the reuse and recycling of used products from customers. In 2002, the Recycling Center was granted a license to dispose of industrial waste and carry out intermediate processing such as dismantling and sorting.

We recycle almost 100% of the waste and always recover more than 90% of it as valuable resources.

Anritsu Kosan also obtained antique dealer's license in 2003. ANRITSU CUSTOMER SUPPORT CO., LTD. selects reusable product from the collected used products, repairs and calibrates them. Anritsu Kosan sells them at low prices to educational institutions such as universities as refurbished products with a one-year warranty, thereby contributing to extending the life of the products through reuse.
