In addition to conventional resource saving and 3R activities, our Zero Plastics Waste Policy, which aims to achieve zero plastic waste by FY2030, promotes efforts to eliminate plastic bottles, packaging for products and purchased parts, and packaging for food used at our business sites. This initiative will lead to the “plastic pollution reduction” target of Kunming-Montreal 2030 adopted at COP15 in December 2022, as well as to the reduction of natural loss that is expected by the TNFD. The following Target, Progress, and Activities provide information on reducing plastic bottles.

The Anritsu Group, together with our stakeholders, will promote initiatives to reduce plastic waste to zero by fiscal 2030 to achieve a resource-recycling society.

Here are some reduction targets related to plastic bottle elimination.

Targets for 2030

We will reduce the use of plastic bottles at business sites to zero.

Mid-term targets for 2026

We will reduce by half the volume of plastic bottles used at our business sites, and outsource all bottle-to-bottle recycling.

We are making steady progress with 3.4 tons of plastic bottles used in FY2023.

Educational activities

  • Issuing “Plastic Bottle-Free Newsletters” as appropriate, which includes our policy, initiatives, progress and Q&A.

  • Installation of additional water servers to accommodate My Bottle and My Cup water supply

Elimination and reduction of vending machine sales of Plastic bottles

  • Discontinued sales of Plastic bottles from vending machines at the head office and switched to cans
  • Discontinued vending machine Plastic bottle sales at the plant in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture

Establishment of recycling scheme

  • All discharged Plastic bottles are recycled through a bottle-to-bottle material recycling process
