Anritsu Supports Development of TD-SCDMA capable LTE Devices with Extension to Rapid Test Designer
LTE chipset and device makers can now efficiently and reliably test products for compliance with the latest Chinese mobile communications standard
Anritsu announced that it has added TD-SCDMA signaling test capability to its popular Rapid Test Designer (RTD) solution for 3GPP mobile communications devices. This enables chipset and mobile device makers to reliably test their implementation of the 3G mobile communications standard used by China Mobile®, the world’s largest mobile network operator.
RTD is the integrated test design and execution environment that works with Anritsu’s popular range of mobile network simulators. Device makers and network operators use it to rapidly test and debug wireless mobile device signaling systems. The addition of TD-SCDMA support means that LTE chipset and device makers can now test their products’ ability meet the requirements of the Chinese market in the familiar and proven Anritsu test environment.
With worldwide deployment of mobile broadband technology accelerating, developers need to ensure reliable operation using the different standards such as 3GPP LTE and TD-SCDMA and the many global frequency bands being deployed. Using Anritsu’s RTD, LTE product developers can verify that products will work in areas with TD-SCDMA coverage where LTE is not yet available, and guarantee continuous service as users move across the boundaries of regions covered by different radio access technologies. An existing RTD system supporting 3GPP (LTE, WCDMA, and EDGE/GSM) can be upgraded to support TD-SCDMA through the addition of an Anritsu MD8475A signaling tester and associated software licenses.
