Based on its CMA5000 Multi-layer Test Platform, Anritsu's 10 Gigabit Ethernet tester provides both lab and field personnel with powerful testing capability in a rugged, portable, battery-operated unit. This reduces the cost of ownership, while providing the tools necessary to install, commission, and troubleshoot a network.

The 10 Gigabit Ethernet application accelerates service deployment via:

  • Targeted applications that efficiently measure critical network parameters, including Throughput, Latency, Frame Loss, Connectivity, and Errored Frame Rate.
  • Unsurpassed ease-of-use, allowing users to perform all relevant tests including RFC 2544 by loading automated, preconfigured settings or by defining all parameters individually.
  • Professional, comprehensive reporting of all settings and test results in standard .pdf file format at the touch of a button.

The 10 Gigabit Ethernet Tester enables network installation and commissioning by performing automated RFC testing including Throughput, Frame Loss, and Latency at full 10 Gigabit Ethernet line rate. The unit can also
conduct Bit Error Rate Testing for TLAN services. For troubleshooting, the 10 GigE Tester provides global statistics, capture and decode capability, and protocol analysis. Global statistics available include Utilization,
Throughput, Errored Frames (FCS and IP Checksum), Frame Size Distribution, and Total Frames Transmitted.

The 10 Gigabit Ethernet Tester enables testing through its ability to generate real network traffic. Users can set important parameters about the traffic that include:

  • IPv4 and IPv6 Source and Destination Addresses, Netmask, and Gateway
  • Ethernet Source and Destination Addresses
  • VLAN ID and VLAN priority
  • Data Field (Payload) supporting PRBS or user-defined payload
  • Traffic Mix (Broadcast and Unicast)
  • Frame Sizes, which may be set to Constant, Stepped, or Random Length
  • Frame or Frame Segment
  • Number of Frames -- Single, Multiple, or Continuous Generation

The 10 Gigabit Ethernet Tester provides exceptional traffic monitoring capability, including frame capture and decode.  The capture feature on the CMA5000 allows users to capture Ethernet frames and provides ultimate detail for advanced troubleshooting.
