Response to Social Expectations

Anritsu gives priority to proactively responding to global social expectations through its business activities.

Since March 2006, Anritsu has practiced the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact, and has linked these principles with its own sustainability efforts to firmly establish them throughout Group activities worldwide.

  • The Anritsu Group Charter of Corporate Behavior, which reflects the spirit of the Global Compact, serves as the basis of our Group activities.
  • The Anritsu Group Code of Conduct has been applied to our activities on a global scale.
  • Made efforts to establish more pleasant workplaces through Groupwide education, including training by organizational levels and preventing violation of ethics rules via helplines in and outside the company.

Human Rights Principles 1, 2 Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights and make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.
  • Promoted activities to secure workplace safety and health.
  • Stipulated human rights protection in the CSR Procurement Guidelines and asked suppliers not to violate human rights.
  • Investigated the actual status of employee harassment with an ethics questionnaire, and maintained an external helpline to address harassment.

Labor Principles 3–6 Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining, the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour, the effective abolition of child labour, and the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
  • Published a public statement concerning the U.K. Modern Slavery Act.
  • Responded to requests from employees in the improvement of labor conditions and thereby promoted the work-life balance of employees.
  • Maintained our efforts to penetrate the Charter of Corporate Behavior and Code of Conduct worldwide.

Environment Principles 7–9 Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges, undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility, and encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
  • Action for the GLP2020 Environment Initiative(FY2018to2020), the new mid-term business plan, in order to lower environmental burden.
  • Having a long-term approach and planning against the climate change.
  • Producing the Eco-Products globally.
  • Promoting the economical water use.
  • Promoting Resources Recycling with the promotion of “3R-Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle” and Environmental Considerations in Packaging.
  • Efforts for Environmental Compliance by complying the environmental global product regulations and Preventing Environmental Pollution.

Environment

Anti-Corruption Principle 10 Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.
  • Established Anritsu Group Anti-Bribery Policy in order to firmly instill among employees in Japan and overseas our stance on preventing bribery. Also providing the training for preventing extortion and bribery.
  • Continued to use case studies in employee education.
  • Promoted the prevention of corruption by suppliers or partners through the dissemination of the Anritsu CSR Procurement Guidelines.
