Webinar On-Demand: Assessment of theoretical maximum RF exposure in 5G NR

27/11/2020, ,1:02:38

With the rollout of 5G base stations using beamforming antennas, it will be possible to provide high capacity in the whole cell by directing beams towards users. For the operation of these base stations, it must ensure that the exposure to the base stations is compliant with the safety limits. For validation, a measurement and extrapolation procedure to assess the theoretical maximum exposure is required. In this webinar, a suitable measurement and extrapolation procedure is presented.

In the beginning, the fundamentals of 5G are explained. This involves signal structure, numerology as well as physical channels and signals being relevant for exposure measurements.

It also shows the relevant fundamentals of 5G NR such as signal structure and beamforming antennas from the exposure point of view. The challenges we are currently facing when assessing the theoretical maximum exposure are discussed and first 5G field measurement results using the Anritsu’s Field Master Pro MS2090A are presented.
