In today’s wireless marketplace 5G NR seems to capture all the headlines, but the majority of wireless network traffic is still carried by LTE and will be for the foreseeable future. In most cases, 5G NR has been implemented in non-standalone mode, requiring existing LTE networks to act as the control plane for 5G NR traffic. If anything, the performance of LTE networks is even more critical prior to the adoption of 5G NR.
