Corporate Philanthropy

Policy

Anritsu contributes to society through its business operations while at the same time pursuing activities that benefit the development of the local community as a corporate citizen.

Community-based social contribution programs are at the center of these initiatives under the three pillars of “partnerships for educating youth”, “contributing to local communities” and “protecting the environment (biodiversity conservation)”, we carry out activities that our employees can participate in continuously.

Partnerships for Educating Youth

“Fun Science Laboratory” Sponsored by Atsugi City School Board, Kanagawa Prefecture

In order to make children more interested in Science, companies and universities in Atsugi city participate in the project of the Science lecture in the school. As the commissioned projects of Atsugi city, Anritsu have carried out the Science experiment in the primary school for the 4th grade of the primary school children. As for the battery which children use in daily life, we lectured on it and had an easy experiment with children.

Contributing to Local Communities

Donation to “Food bank Kanagawa”

Due to the effects of COVID-19, more and more people are in need of support because of the poverty. The “Food bank Kanagawa” receives food from ordinary households and distributes it to people in need of living to reduce food loss and support food for people in need.

The Anritsu labor union supported the activities of the “Food bank Kanagawa” from the perspective of mutual aid and social welfare, and cooperated with volunteer employees. Volunteer employees gathered a total of 781,700 yen and donated it to the “Food bank Kanagawa”.

Anritsu Santa Bag

We set up “Anritsu Santa Bag” during the Christmas season to collect donations of shoes and socks from employees. We started this initiative in 2015 after hearing from Atsugi City that there was a shortage of shoes and socks for children at a children's consultation center.

The Anritsu Santa Bag

In fiscal year 2020, we gave a total of 340 items to the Atsugi Children's Center, including 284 socks, 11 gloves, 12 muffler/neck warmers, 24 hand towels and 9 other accessories.

Mt. Fuji Green Fund Afforestation Campaign

Since 2006, Anritsu has been participating in the Mt. Fuji Green Fund afforestation activities at the invitation of Ricoh Leasing Co., Ltd. The activity is part of a grand, 80-year-long effort launched in 2000 for regenerating forests destroyed by a typhoon in 1996.

Until FY2018, our main work was picking underbrush and pruning of planted cypress trees, but from FY2019, we started a new process called “nursery thinning”. Conservation thinning is the process of cutting and thinning poorly grown cypress trees. This encourages the growth of the trees left behind and allows light to reach the ground, allowing a diverse range of plants to flourish and lead to the preservation of the forest land.
