Can you tell me the difference between the 2000-767-R and the 2000-1618-R?

The only difference is the frequency range. The 2000-767 is DC to 4 GHz and the 2000-1618-R is DC to 6 GHz. There is also a female 7/16 Open/Short/Load part number 2000-768-R and 2000-1619-R. 2000-768-R frequency range is DC to 4GHz and 2000-1619-R is DC to 6GHz.

I saved my measurements as a JPEG and a .DAT file. How do I view them on my S332E?

Currently the instrument is only able to create these files, not view them.  However, you can see some text information in the instrument through the “Copy or Delete” functionality such as the title accompanied with the extension (.JPG or .DAT).   JPEGs will have to be opened on your computer. DAT files can be opened with Line Sweep Tools or Hand Held Software Tools.

How do I copy files from my internal memory to my USB memory stick?

The steps below detail copying a file from internal memory to an external flash drive.   NOTE: Select the files to copy in the top window and the location for the files to be copied to in the bottom window.   Insert a USB drive into either USB Type A port of the Site Master.   From the File main (shift/file (#7 key)) menu, press the “Copy (soft key)” submenu key. The Copy submenu and Copy dialog box are displayed (picture below).   Select the file(s) to copy. To select multiple files, highlight the first then press the “Select or De-Select” key to keep the file selected.  NOTE: (Press again to de-select if you choose not to copy the file.) The file will be outlined in blue. Repeat with all the files to copy. To display files in a folder, select the folder and press the Enter key.   Press the Scroll key and highlight the USB drive and press “select or de-select” soft key in the lower window using the touch screen or the Up/Down arrow keys or Thumb Wheel. NOTE: The Scroll submenu key toggles between Src (top window) and Dst (bottom window). Basically, the top window (src) is where you copy from and the bottom (dst) is where those files are going to.   Press the Copy key to copy the files to the flash drive.       NOTE:   If you want to check and see if those files have been copied, simply press the Scroll soft key (to get to your Src or source box), use your Up/Down arrows or Thumb Wheel to get to your USB Drive and press “Enter”.

I have a S331E and when I convert my files from .VNA to .DAT, the CW is “ON”. How do I turn it off?

This has happened because the RF Immunity is set for “Low” on the instrument and when you convert them from .VNA to .DAT using Master Software Tools, CW is “ON”. You have to set RF Immunity for “High”. To do this press “Sweep/Setup” and on your right hand side you will see the soft key “RF Immunity”. Press to underscore “High”. Unfortunately, you will have to retake your measurements. This can not be changed after saving.

What happens if the battery of my site master is completely discharged?

If a battery is allowed to totally discharge, the smart-memory capability of the battery may be lost, resulting in incorrect battery capacity readings or loss of communication with the battery.

Is there any recommendation for Battery Life on a Site Master?

The NiMH battery will last longer and perform better if allowed to completely discharge before recharging. For maximum battery life, it is recommended that the NiMH battery be completely discharged and recharged once every three months.

How do I add options to my S331D Site Master?

Some options for the S331D Site Master require additional hardware or calibration factors to be loaded into the unit so the work needs to be done in either an Anritsu service center or at the Morgan Hill, CA facility.  For other options, these can be added via a license file and instructions on how to complete this process are shown below:    Generating an Instrument Config File and Installing A New License File To automatically queue the Anritsu website for updates, you must configure the Master Software Tools (MST) Internet Settings. 1. Run the MST program. 2. Connect to the instrument. 3. Generate a Config File a. Pull down the Sync menu and highlight Device Status and Options to open the submenu.   Get Options Highlighted (config file)   b. Click Get Options (Config File). The Save Config File window opens.     c. Go to the folder where the license file was previously stored. d. Highlight the file and press the Open button. The filename format is model-spaceserialnumber.license. e. MST will install the new license into the instrument. After the installation is complete, a dialog appears.   “Instrument options successfully upgraded. Cycle power on the instrument to begin using the new features”   f. Follow the instruction. g. Verify the new option(s) are listed on the boot up screen.

What is a Z540 calibration?

The Standard Service Program provides economic per-incident service for most Anritsu products at a pre-established standard price. All service is provided on a return to Anritsu service center basis. Two types of Z540-compliant calibration services are offered. Standard Calibration provides the minimum level of documentation necessary for compliance with ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994. For those customers who need a full set of pre- and post-calibration data, we offer Premium Calibration.
