Anritsu Company introduces a One-Button Test capability for its next-generation Network Master™ Pro MT1000A and Network Master™ Flex MT1100A all-in-one transport tester platforms that simplifies the end-to-end process of installing and maintaining the quality of high-speed core and metro networks. With the new capability, operators can more easily implement their own testing procedures and ensure they are enacted by field technicians who can complete jobs more quickly based on predefined requirements to reduce test times and costs while improving quality.
To achieve this more efficient test method, Anritsu has developed the Scenario Edit Environment Kit (SEEK) MX100003A, which allows users to create detailed test configuration files on a PC. Users can include contextual or graphical prompts while completing multiple sequential tests with user-defined pass/fail thresholds. Once created, the file is loaded into the appropriate Network Master transport tester and saved to the Utilities tab. To run the test series, field engineers and technicians simply connect to the cable, device or network under test and press the icon, saving time and ensuring accurate and consistent results.
The new Network Master One-Button Test system provides benefits to operators, field technicians and onsite contractors. Departments responsible for operations management, network quality control and network expansion can create “single-file” test scripts, including multiple tests, such as electrical/fiber optical cable testing, BERT, RFC2544, and Y.1564, each with individual criteria so technicians know when each test is complete and can continue to the next test section. Settings flexibility allows technicians to input network details, and change the configuration and pass/fail criteria while still being managed by the operator for greater network quality and versatility.
The One-Button Test system also supports creation of default test packages with minimum required adjustment by field technicians to reduce human error and time on the job. The technician simply selects the appropriate one-button test on the Network Master transport tester, follows on-screen instructions, and views the test results progress. Upon completion, a single file containing all results is created to simplify and expedite the submission process.
Network Master Platform
Compact, lightweight, battery-powered and easy-to-use, the MT1000A has everything to install and maintain communication networks and network elements from 1.5 Mbps to 10 Gbps, including OTDR and IEC 61300-3-35 based Connector Inspection. Recent enhancements include a module adding G.8275.1-compliant Precision Time Protocol (PTP) capabilities, as well as enhanced SyncE support for TD-LTE/LTE-Advanced networks, and CPRI Automatic Protection Switching (APS) measurement to simplify installation and maintenance of 4G/5G networks.
The MT1100A supports all the latest communications network technologies. Selecting and installing up to two modules from three options supports all-in-one R&D, manufacturing, installation and maintenance tests of network and transport equipment operating at bit rates from 1.5 Mbps to 100 Gbps. With support of up to 400 Gbps (100G x 4), it is the only field portable multi-100G transport tester that can support native client payloads, including Ethernet, Fibre Channel, SONET/SDH and CPRI, into various ODU encapsulation, making it a comprehensive tool to verify network performance during installation and maintenance.
