Anritsu Company (IWCE booth #1633) will provide educational resources and test solutions to ensure the proper installation and operation of public safety in-building wireless systems, including distributed antenna systems (DAS), at IWCE 2016. Among the solutions on display will be an innovative kit featuring a 3D indoor location and mapping solution that significantly simplifies in-building network testing. Additionally, Anritsu representatives will speak on test needs based on multiple DAS designs, regulatory requirements and typical public safety DAS system configurations, as well as explain PIM issues common in DAS environments.
Headlining the Anritsu test solutions is the MA8100A-00x series 3D in-building coverage mapping solution, an innovative tool developed through a partnership between Anritsu and TRX Systems. The MA8100A-00x uses TRX Systems’ unique NEON® Tracking Unit and NEON® Signal Mapper software to deliver real-time 3D location information that is interoperable with the Anritsu Spectrum Master™, LMR Master™, Site Master™, BTS Master™, Cell Master™, and VNA Master™ handheld analyzers.
The solution, which provides 3D maps and seamless indoor location and tracking data, reduces the time to verify public safety in-building wireless system operation and provides real-time 3D visualization of the test results as well as cloud storage for post testing review. The integrated TRX-Anritsu solution will be demonstrated for the first time in the Anritsu IWCE booth.
Also for DAS applications is the PIM Master MW82119B 40 Watt, battery-operated PIM analyzer featuring Site Master™ line sweep capability. It can be used to conduct installation pre-tests; DAS installation tests; and for system continuity verification.
Anritsu will also display its handheld fiber test solutions that ensure proper installation of the optical cables, PON splitters and other fiber elements in an active DAS. The ACCESS Master™ MT9083x, Network Master™ MT9090A and Network Master™ Pro MT1000A simplify typical tests, such as connector cleanliness, overall cable length, loss, and optical return loss (ORL) as well as individual characteristics, including splice loss, connector loss, and reflectance to verify the quality of DAS optical fiber cables.
The Network Master Pro MT1000A is one of four Anritsu solutions recognized by the 2016 Lightwave Innovation Reviews. Other award-winning instruments are the Network Master™ Flex MT1100A, BERTWave™ MP2100B, and MP1861A/MP1862A MUX/DEMUX. Anritsu product manager Tom Brinkoetter will participate in a panel discussion entitled In-Building Distributed Antenna System (DAS) Planning for Public Safety on Friday, March 25 at 8:15 in room N259. Brinkoetter will present RF and optical fiber measurements required to design, build, and verify DAS systems, with special considerations given to fire and building code requirements. Among the tests to be covered are RF propagation modeling and measurements; fiber installation measurements; RF cabling installation measurements; and PIM.
