Anritsu Expands Measurement Capability of Network Master™ Pro With Introduction of OTDR Modules
Rugged Handheld Field Solution Ensures Optical Performance of Mobile, Metro, Access and Long Haul Networks
Richardson, TX – For Immediate Release
Anritsu Company introduces OTDR modules for its Network Master™ Pro MT1000A all-in-one transport tester. The new OTDR modules can operate standalone or be simultaneously installed with available multi-rate transport modules to create a rugged, handheld solution that field technicians can use to ensure the optical performance of mobile, metro, access or long haul networks during installation and maintenance.
With an OTDR module installed, key properties such as overall cable length, loss, and optical return loss (ORL), as well as individual characteristics, including splice loss, connector loss, and reflectance, can be verified and documented. High resolution and dynamic range of up to 46 dB ensure quick and thorough fiber evaluation of single mode or multimode fibers. Several modules are available to provide the proper solution for the appropriate application.
The MT1000A OTDR features Anritsu’s Fiber Visualizer that streamlines the optical testing process by minimizing the number of settings to be made and compiling test results into a clear, graphical summary showing overall results as well as all individual event characteristics. Color-coded PASS/FAIL results based on user-defined thresholds are clearly indicated on the large 9-inch active TFT display of the Network Master Pro MT1000A. Failing events are highlighted and can easily be investigated for resolution. When an optical link has passed all the tests, files can be saved and reports generated by simply pressing a button.
Connector inspection is also simplified with the MT1000A, as all software is pre-installed, including IEC 61300-3-35 four zone analysis. This provides easy PASS/FAIL determination and ensures all technicians are using the same criteria.
A common GUI between OTDR and transport applications greatly reduces the learning curve and improves turn-up times and mean time to repair (MTTR). The broad test capability in a compact rugged design that can withstand the most rigorous field environments makes the Network Master Pro MT1000A a single solution of choice for a variety of applications, from 10G Ethernet and OTN backhaul, to CPRI or CRAN fronthaul, as well as metro rings.
Anritsu will display the new Network Master Pro MT1000A OTDR at several upcoming tradeshows, including OSP, CTIA/Super Mobility, BICSI Fall, NFOC, CCA and CABLE-TEC 2015.
