Anritsu Validates LTE-A 3CA Test Cases for Leading North American Carrier

LTE Carrier Acceptance Test Portfolio Expands to Include 3CA Protocol, Data Performance, and RF

Richardson, TX – September 10, 2015

Anritsu Company announces it has completed validation of all LTE-A 3 Carrier Aggregation (3CA) Carrier Acceptance Test (CAT) requirements for a large North American carrier with a leadership position in Carrier Aggregation (CA) deployment. This achievement includes exclusive capability for 3CA data performance as well as 3CA RF tests, with additional coverage for 3CA protocol tests. All 3CA tests run on Anritsu’s new ME7834LA Mobile Device Test Platform and ME7873LA RF/RRM Test System.

Anritsu’s 3CA offerings in the ME7834LA and ME7873LA build on first-to-market capability for 3CA Cat. 9 (450 MB/s downlink) originally announced in November 2014. The MD8430A Signaling Tester is used as a central component in both systems to enable simulation of networks with up to three carriers with MIMO and fading.

The ME7834LA and ME7873LA support of the most recent CA implementation aggregating three carriers solidifies Anritsu’s position as a leading provider of CAT test platforms. It give carriers confidence that mobile devices used on their wireless networks can accommodate increasingly larger files and more complex applications that benefit from CA data throughput. The scalable design of the ME7834LA and ME7873LA will allow the test systems to easily and cost-effectively support further aggregation to four and five carriers in the future.

The ME7873LA and ME7834LA are scalable GCF, PTCRB, and carrier-validated test systems that enable certification of 3G and LTE devices to industry and carrier standards. The ME7873LA provides test coverage for Rel. 12 versions of 3GPP 36.521-1 (TX, RX, and Performance), 36.521-3 (Radio Resource Management – RRM) and carrier-specific Supplementary RF/RRM test packages. The ME7834LA provides test coverage for 3GPP 36.523 as well as a wide portfolio of CAT test plans across multiple operators. For existing users of the ME7873L and ME7834L platforms, an upgrade path is available with support for new 3CA as well as legacy test cases.
