Anritsu Demonstrates First Single-box RF Test Capability for LTE-Advanced Carrier Aggregation at CTIA2013

300 MB/s Downlink Carrier Aggregation Test Capability now Available with Flexible Platform Configurations

Anritsu Company will conduct a demonstration of physical layer testing with its MT8820C One-Box Tester and a commercial LTE-Advanced Carrier Aggregation (CA) UE in its booth (#6123) at CTIA2013, May 21-23 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas. The first-ever demonstration of a single-instrument solution for RF testing of CA highlights a new option for the MT8820C, and leverages the instrument’s ParallelPhone Mode (PPMTM) dual-RF capability to simulate inter-band and intra-band downlink Frequency Domain Duplex (FDD) CA with call processing.

“Anritsu is pleased to demonstrate LTE-Advanced CA device test capability at CTIA2013. Introduction of this new solution marks yet another element of our LTE wireless test portfolio that includes the newest LTE-Advanced technologies to support upcoming carrier deployments. Our MT8820C has been widely accepted by LTE device manufacturers, and integrating the LTE-Advanced CA capability only strengthens the leadership position of the MT8820C,” said Michael Barrick, Sr. Business Development Manager, Anritsu Company.

The MT8820C RF Tester is a multi-format 2G, 3G, and 4G/LTE tester with capability for wireless device calibration, RF parametric testing, and functional testing, including call processing or no-call based testing. The MT8820C currently supports LTE (FDD and TDD), W-CDMA/HSPA to DC-HSDPA, CDMA2K to single and multi-carrier 1xEV-DO rel. A, GSM/(E)-GPRS, and TD-SCDMA/HSPA. Through Anritsu’s unique PPM technology, combinations of these technologies may also be supported, including SV-LTE, SVDO, CSFB, and redirection. PPM also enables other technologies that require two simultaneous RFs, including DC-HSDPA, LTE 2x2 MIMO, and now FDD downlink CA, to be tested more effectively.
