Anritsu Company, a global provider of test solutions, announces that its MD8475A Signaling Tester has been chosen by the readers of Wireless Design & Development as one of the top four test instruments of 2012. Wireless Design & Development published all of its Readers’ Choice Awards in the November/December issue of the publication, which is read by wireless and electronics industry professionals interested in component, product, and system design and applications.
“We are thrilled that the readers of Wireless Design & Development – who are our target customers – have selected the MD8475A as one of the year’s best test instruments. The MD8475A was introduced to meet the needs of engineers who are designing and developing the next generation of wireless devices. They recognize that the MD8475A is an ideal cost-effective tool for conducting complex multiple tests and evaluations on multifunctional UEs,” said Wade Hulon, General Manager and Vice President of Anritsu Company.
Wireless Design and Development Readers’ Choice Awards is a special editorial supplement highlighting the top wireless technology products each year, as nominated by readers. The winning products are innovative and ingenious, providing design engineers with only the best results. In the publication’s 1st annual Readers’ Choice Awards, 44 winners were selected in 11 different categories. In addition to test and measurement, categories included: amplifiers, antennas, boards and modules, ICs, oscillators, packaging and interconnect, passive and discrete devices, power sources, sensors and actuators, and wireless tags.
The MD8475A Signaling Tester is a compact, Windows 7-based tester capable of emulating two base stations or 2x2 MIMO, with available formats, including LTE (FDD and TDD), W-CDMA/HSPA+, TD-SCDMA/HSPA, GSM/(E)-GPRS, and CDMA2000. Both packet-switched and circuit-switched calls are supported, with available Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and circuit-switched fallback (CSFB) functionality. End-to-end and data throughput testing are supported by the tester, with the capability to install user-supplied servers inside the MD8475A or to connect external servers. Anritsu’s SmartStudio GUI provides easy graphical control of the MD8475A, and the internal state machine emulates real network operation without the need for scripts.
