Anritsu Company announces the availability of millimeter-wave source multiplier modules that extend the frequency coverage of its MG3690C series of RF/microwave signal generators to 500 GHz. With the extended waveguide-banded frequency coverage, the best-in-class MG3690C series addresses the market need for millimeter-wave solutions to test emerging aerospace, defense, radar, and satellite communications applications.
The new modules, developed with OML, Inc. (formerly Oleson Microwave Labs), continue the expansion of Anritsu test solutions for millimeter-wave applications. Designed for use with the MG3692C (with base coverage from 2 GHz to 20 GHz), MG3693C (up to 31.8 GHz), MG3694C (up to 40 GHz), MG3695C (up to 50 GHz), and MG3697C (up to 67 GHz), the multipliers exhibit exceptional flatness. In addition, the millimeter-wave connections on the multiplier modules are compatible with MIL-DTL-3922/67D (UG387/U-M) waveguide flanges. Engineers can use the MG3690C/multiplier configuration to solve their most difficult challenges, including design characterization, performance verification, and system emulation.

A variety of signals can be created by the signal generators configured with the modules. The MG3690C already has the industry’s best pulse modulation capability, including 100 ns leveled pulse widths with 10 ns resolution and the ability to generate single, doublet, triplet and quadruplet pulses. When combined with the multiplier modules, pulse rise- and fall-times are further reduced enabling the most comprehensive emulation and test of high-performance narrow pulse radars. For applications requiring precision power control, most of the millimeter-wave multiplier modules can be equipped with a manually adjustable attenuator with a minimum attenuation range of 25 dB.
Microwave signal generators in the MG3690C series feature best-in-class combination of frequency range (option available down to 0.1 Hz), phase noise, and modulation performance, along with excellent spectral purity and switching speed, backed with an industry-leading 3-year standard warranty.
