Anritsu Earns Four Best in Test Nominations from Test & Measurement World

Leading Trade Magazine Selects MD8475A, ME7873, PIM Master™, and VectorStar® as 2011's Top Instruments

The editors of Test & Measurement World – part of UBM Electronics, a UBM company – have selected four Anritsu instruments as finalists for the 2012 Best in Test awards, which recognize innovative products introduced between November 1, 2010, and September 30, 2011. The MD8475A signalling tester, ME7834 mobile device test platform, MW8219A PIM Master™, and VectorStar® ME7838A Broadband VNA system all received recognition by the leading trade media outlet.

For this year's Best in Test awards, the editors reviewed many commendable products nominated by vendors and chose finalists in 17 categories. Winners will be announced on January 31 during a ceremony held in conjunction with DesignCon 2012, which will be held in Santa Clara, CA.

The MD8475A and ME7873L are finalists in the LTE Test category, while the PIM Master is one of six instruments nominated in the Optical & Network Test category. In the Signal Analyzer category, the VectorStar ME7838A is a finalist.

"Anritsu has been committed to providing test instrumentation that is technologically advanced, meets customer needs, and provides exceptional price/performance. Receiving four nominations in the Best In Test awards is evidence of the talent of our design teams, our overall commitment to excellence, and leadership position," said Wade Hulon, General Manager and Vice President, Anritsu Company.

The MD8475A is an all-in-one base station simulator supporting LTE FDD, W-CDMA/HSPA, GSM/(E)GPRS, and CDMA2000® 1X/1xEV-DO Rev. A. It supports service and call-processing tests for multimode LTE smartphones and mobiles, with excellent cost-performance. The ME7834 is a scalable test system that offers test coverage for both protocol-conformance test and carrier-acceptance test. It is included as a validated platform for GCF and PTCRB, and tracks 36.523 for LTE and 34.123 for UTRAN.

Featuring Anritsu's patented Distance-to-PIM (DTP) technology, the MW8219A PIM Master pinpoints PIM faults to determine if the source is at the base station or in the surrounding environment. Another key benefit of PIM Master is that users have the ability to test at 40 W, twice that of other PIM testers, which allows PIM Master to find intermittent and power-sensitive PIM problems that might otherwise be missed.

The VectorStar Broadband ME7838A system begins a new era in broadband characterization, offering many advances in broadband performance. It features industry-best broadband frequency coverage, best-in-class dynamic range, and the fastest measurement speed. It also features compact, lightweight mmWave modules for easy, precise, and economical positioning on the wafer probe station.
