Anritsu Company and Virginia Diodes Inc. Announce New Extensions in Vector Network Analyzer Millimeter-wave Capabilities

Anritsu VectorStar® VNA and VDI Modules Provide Measurement Analysis up to the Terahertz Region

Anritsu Company and Virginia Diodes, Inc. (VDI) announce a new level of millimeter-wave performance in the Anritsu VectorStar™ VNA series. Incorporating VNA frequency extension modules from VDI, the VectorStar product family now provides measurement analysis from 70 kHz to 750 GHz, the widest frequency coverage range available in a single VNA product line. VDI modules offer the highest dynamic range performance in the sub-millimeter range, and that capability can be coupled with the industry-best RF performance of the VectorStar VNA to provide the finest overall RF-to-microwave-to-millimeter-wave measurement performance with best-in-class dynamic range and widest frequency coverage.

"Extending measurement analysis over a frequency range as wide as possible for device characterization and millimeter-band analysis has been an on-going goal of design engineers. We are excited to combine the widest broadband VNA in a single coaxial output with the millimeter-wave performance of the VDI modules. Extending the capability of the VectorStar VNA from 70 kHz to the Terahertz region using VDI modules provides the measurement community with a new dimension in VNA measurements," said Donn Mulder, Vice President and General Manager, Anritsu Company.

VDI President Thomas Crowe stated, "VDI is pleased to offer the compatibility of our VNA frequency extenders with the Anritsu VectorStar product line. Our goal is to serve the marketplace with millimeter to sub-millimeter wave sources and receivers. Combining our offerings with the VectorStar VNA will provide engineers, researchers and other industry professionals an opportunity to expand their measurement capabilities."
