Anritsu Company is displaying its portfolio of industry leading and market-proven test solutions for current and emerging technologies, including LTE and W-CDMA/HSPA Evolution, in its booth (#2234) during CTIA Wireless 2011, to be held in Orlando, FL, March 22-24. With an emphasis on test solutions for Next Generation Networks (NGNs), Anritsu will be showcasing instruments that can be used in the laboratory, on the production floor, and in the field.

RF Test for Multi-Mode LTE Devices – To ensure UE operation, Anritsu is showing the MT8820C and MS2830A. A One Box Tester that is ideal for testing LTE and 2G/3G devices, the MT8820C supports all test needs, including TX/RX parametric test, calibration, and functional test. The MS2830A Signal Analyzer delivers best-in-class speed and accuracy in a cost-efficient design that allows manufacturers of 2G, 3G, and 4G wireless devices and systems to increase production yield, reduce manufacturing costs, and have greater confidence in product performance.
LTE UE Application Testing – New at CTIA 2011 is the MD8475A, a multi-format signaling tester that can test multi-mode wireless devices, including GSM/GPRS/E-GPRS, 1xRTT, 1xEV-DO, W-CDMA/HSPA, TD-SCDMA, and FDD-LTE. The highest-speed commercially available (Category 3) LTE devices can be tested with the MD8475A, with downlink IP-layer throughput to 100 MB/s (including 2x2 MIMO) and uplink throughput to 50 MB/s.
LTE UE Protocol Verification and Network Acceptance Testing – The ME7834A/L is a flexible test system that fits with test requirements for multi-mode LTE UEs. A minimal system purchased for LTE UE R&D can be upgraded to enable Protocol CT and then Network Acceptance Testing, as test needs change during product life cycle. The MD8430A Signaling Tester is the central component of the ME7834L Mobile Device Test system, and can simulate up to six LTE enhanced Node Bs on four RF channels. The MD8470A Signaling Tester provides the CDMA2K/eHRPD base station simulation in the ME7834L system, while the MD8480C provides W-CDMA/GERAN Node B simulation. Both validated Protocol Conformance and Network Acceptance test packages are available with the ME7834L.
Dual-carrier HSDPA UE Testing with Graphical User Interface – The MD8480C W-CDMA/GERAN Signaling Tester can simulate up to four W-CDMA and two GSM Node Bs on two RF channels. Support ranges from GSM to Rel. 8 W-CDMA, including support for DC-HSDPA, as well as simultaneous 64QAM and MIMO. The Wireless Network Simulator (WNS) user interface allows for intuitive control of the MD8480C without the need for manipulating test case code, enabling access to the advanced feature set of the MD8480C with this UI.
Full Suite of Base Station Field Installation and Maintenance Solutions – Anritsu will display and demonstrate Distance-to-PIM™ (DTP), an option to be available on its MW8219A PIM Master™, in its booth. DTP informs the technician of the distance and relative magnitude of all the PIM sources simultaneously, both inside the antenna system and beyond the antenna.
Also, Anritsu will introduce Link Master™ Air Interface Optimization Tools and Sweep Master at CTIA. Link Master allows users to efficiently and effectively deploy, implement, optimize, and benchmark 2G/3G/4G networks, including HSPA+ and LTE. Sweep Master is a web-based application designed to save carriers, management companies, and contractors time and money by improving efficiency and quality when deploying, installing, and maintaining wireless networks.
Other field test solutions on display are the LMR Master™ S412E, and Spectrum Master™ MS2726C. The MT9090A Network Master™ Micro-OTDR, as well as a MT9090A configured with a Gigabit Ethernet module for backhaul testing will be on display as well.
