Anritsu to Showcase Signal Integrity Test Solutions at DesignCon 2011

Variety of Analysis Tools to Meet Needs of Today’s High-Speed Designs to be on Display in Anritsu’s DesignCon Booth February 1-2

At DesignCon 2011, Anritsu Company (booth #715) is showcasing signal integrity analysis tools that help engineers ensure the performance of their devices, components, and systems. Among the test solutions on display will be those for 28G backplane/interconnection designs, vector network analyzers (VNAs), as well as instruments for 40G/100G Ethernet applications. The solutions provide the ability to conduct measurements on high-frequency complex signals in the lab, on the production floor, and in the field.

Anritsu’s 28G backplane/interconnection test solution consists of the dual 28G BERT (Bit Error Rate Tester) with 4 tap emphasis capability, which supports all types of stressed jitter tolerance tests. The cutting edge technology of MP1800A Signal Quality Analyzer (SQA), MP1825A 4 Tap Emphasis instrument, and MP2100A BertWave will be on display in the Anritsu DesignCon booth. The test solution can help design engineers evaluate the performance of high-speed printed circuit boards (PCBs), components, interconnections, and backplane.

Also on display at DesignCon 2011 will be Anritsu’s VectorStar® and VNA Master™ vector network analyzers. The VectorStar family is Anritsu’s premium VNA line, offering excellent 4-port performance over a span of 70 kHz to 70 GHz. This broad frequency range supports better device modeling, and increased resolution and accuracy of differential time domain measurements. The industry leading 100 dB dynamic range at 70 GHz, coupled with excellent raw performance, deliver the best accuracy and stability to the toughest measurements.

Offering the broadest frequency range of 5 kHz to up to 20 GHz in a handheld VNA, plus fast sweep times and advanced time domain capabilities, the VNA Master can characterize serial channel components and is an excellent tool for checking phase match of cables and interconnects. In addition to full reversing, 2-port vector network analysis, the VNA Master can be configured with an optional spectrum analyzer to address a broader range of signal integrity and noise measurements.

For 40G/100G Ethernet optical device compliance, Anritsu offers the MS9740A Optical Spectrum Analyzer (OSA) and MD1260A 40G/100G Ethernet Analyzer. Covering 600 nm to 1750 nm, the MS9740A has the world’s fastest sweep time of 0.2 seconds – which reduces test times by 80% – as well as minimum resolution of 30 pm and dynamic range of >70 dB. The MD1260A supports the unique function for 40/100GbE skew adjustment evaluation between lanes, in addition to basic Ethernet measurements, such as Throughput, Frame Loss, BER and Statistics.
