Anritsu Company is offering free, award-winning line sweeping courses that help field technicians and engineers more efficiently conduct field measurements on cable antennas and towers. The four eLearning classes are available through www.us.anritsu.com/training and provide a convenient way to become familiar with line sweep measurements and using a Site Master handheld cable and antenna analyzer, the de facto industry standard field test tool.
A virtual Site Master, complete with a working display and keypad, brings a real-world element to the online courses. Attendees will learn how to correctly set up an analyzer for transmission line measurements, use distance-to-fault (DTF) techniques to obtain accurate and meaningful measurement results, and identify, locate, document, and resolve cable line transmission faults.
The four eLearning courses available online are:
Site Master Line Sweep – Attendees will be trained on the basics of line sweeping and operation of Site Master. The course is an excellent way to prepare for the instructor-led Certified Line Sweep course or as an introduction to line sweeping.
Line Sweep Interpretation – Students learn how to interpret line sweep data and use Handheld Software Tools and Master Software Tools. Instruction is given on important technical terms, how a line sweep measurement is made, what reflections look like and how to determine if they are within spec.
Handheld Software Tools (HHST) – This course provides training on Anritsu's Handheld Software Tools (HHST), including how to open, annotate, and save .DAT files. A demo of the software and tips for productivity enhancement are part of the class.
Master Software Tools (MST) – A course on how to use Master Software Tools (MST) as it relates to line sweep data. Attendees learn how to open, annotate, and save files. The class features a demo of the software and tips for productivity enhancement.
