Anritsu Company VectorStar Earns Technology Award
Microwave VNA Garners EDN Innovation Award in RF/Microwave Test Category
Anritsu Company's VectorStar microwave vector network analyzers (VNAs) have been awarded a prestigious EDN Innovation Award that honors outstanding engineering professionals and the ground-breaking products they have produced. The award was presented during a special ceremony in San Jose, CA, on April 26, 2010.
VectorStar was named the top product in the RF/Microwave Test category. The microwave VNAs deliver best-in-class frequency coverage of 70 kHz to 70 GHz, dynamic range of 103 dB at 67 GHz, and measurement speed of 20 µs/point. The 70-kHz low-end provides seven octaves of additional information below the traditional 10-MHz cut-off of conventional microwave VNAs. VectorStar utilizes an innovative architecture to achieve its performance.
The EDN Innovation of the Year awards recognize unique, state-of-the-art electronics products in several categories. The EDN Innovation Awards carry special meaning because the winners are chosen by a jury of their peers. EDN's technical editors select the most deserving nominees as finalists. The finalists and information about them are printed in EDN and on its web site. EDN then invites its worldwide audience of engineers and engineering managers to vote. A combination of these audience votes, balloting by the EDN Editorial Advisory Board, and voting by EDN's editorial staff determines the ultimate winners.
"When we set out to develop VectorStar, we wanted to design an instrument that would be able to meet the ever-increasing testing demands associated with complex, high-frequency signals that have become so important to both commercial and private wireless networks. Having EDN recognize our achievement with an Innovation Award is a testament to the commitment and ingenuity of everyone at Anritsu," said Donn Mulder, vice president and general manager, Anritsu Company.
