High-Speed Sampling and Mask Margin Measurement

The BERTWave MP2110A supports high sampling speeds of up to 250 ksamples/s for 2ch simultaneously to capture 1 million samples in just 5 seconds, reducing eye pattern analysis times by 65% compared to conventional instruments. In addition, an automatic mask margin test function is built-in as standard.

The BERTWave MP2110A sampling oscilloscope has all the performance needed for measuring optical modules and optical devices used in optical modules such as 100GbE and OTU4.

Sampling Speed functions

The wideband O/E assures more accurate drawing of the characteristics of directly modulated optical signals and optical modules for long distance applications.

In addition, the high sensitivity of –15 dBm (typ., SMF) and low noise of 3.4 µW (typ.) support accurate eye pattern and mask margin measurements even for measurement systems in which signals are attenuated by optical switches, etc. The jitter of just 200 fs rms (typ.) of Precision Trigger Option can be installed too. These excellent performance specifications support more accurate measurements to increase production line yields.

The BERTWave MP2110A BERT operates at bit rates of 24.3 Gbit/s to 28.2 Gbit/s that can be extended optionally to add bit rates of 9.5 Gbit/s to 14.2 Gbit/s for various applications, including 10 GbE and 100 GbE.

Additionally, the PPG with a low data Jitter of 600 fs rms (typ.) assures high accuracy measurement of DUT characteristics, including optical modules and devices. With an input sensitivity of 25 mV (typ.), the ED can measure the BER of low amplitude signals after passage through the transmission path to help increase DUT yields.
