Anritsu Company introduces the MA2400xA series thermal sensors that provide excellent power measurement accuracy over 50 dB of dynamic range. Designed for Anritsu’s ML2430, ML2480, and ML2490 series power meters, the MA2400XA series provides true RMS detection for accurate average power measurements of continuous wave (CW), pulsed, and complex digitally modulated signals used in commercial, government, aerospace, and defense applications.
Anritsu has designed the MA2400xA sensors with proprietary Seebeck elements to create a combined effect of a thermal gradient and charge migration between dissimilar metals. The result is a true reading of the average power of any incident waveform. The thermal sensors have excellent SWR and a built-in EEPROM with calibration factor and linearity correction data, for improved accuracy and reliability. Because all the calibration data is stored in the EEPROM and all the mathematics is computed by the respective power meter, conducting measurements is extremely easy as well.
The MA2400xA series has wide frequency coverage from 10 MHz to 50 GHz, depending on the sensor type. The MA24002A thermal sensor covers 10 MHz to 18 GHz while the MA24004A extends the frequency coverage to 40 GHz. Providing the widest frequency coverage of 10 MHz to 50 GHz is the MA24005A.
Anritsu offers the world’s most comprehensive range of power meters. The ML2490 series has the performance required for narrow, fast rising-edge pulse power measurements, such as radar, while the ML2480 series is suited for wideband power measurements on signals such as W-CDMA, WLAN, WiMAX, and TD-SCDMA. The ML2430A series is designed for CW applications, offering a combination of accuracy, speed and flexibility in a low cost package.
