Is it possible to add option-08 Pre-amplifier to MS8609A?

If the MS8609A already has option-30 LPF for 2GHz band carrier installed, you can not add option-08. Otherwise, yes, the option can be installed.

On the MS8608A and MS8609A when they are fitted with the option 36 or 37 (6GHz power meter option), are the normal 3GHz specs the same as the 6GHz specs.? Or are the specs de-rated from 3 to 6GHz?

The power meter accuracy range with option 36 or 37 is from -20dBm to+20dBm and the accuracy is +/- 10% by 6GHz. The compensation data (3GHz to 6GHz) is writen for option 36 or 37. Option 36 and 37 are same function. Option 37 is to add the option after shipment.

MS8609A has option 30 which is LPF for carrier cut off in 2GHz band. Is this ootion built in or external What is the NLP1200 used for?

The option 30 is internal to the MS8609A. The NPL1200 is a HPF to measure spurious emissions less than 1 GHz band. By excluding a carrier in this LPF, the dynamic range can be raised.

What is the difference of MX860901A and MX860901B?

The following features were added to MX860901B. RACH measurement, Inner-loop measurement, Output power control of BTS measurement, Demodulation function, Compressed modemeasurement, APD measurement and Spurious wave-form display function.

Where is the power sensor used with the power meter in MS8609A? How do you do a calibration?

The power sensor is internal to the MS8609A. The calibration is performed by pressing the Power Calibration key.

In the MS8609A, can you read the Occupied Bandwidth waveform using GPIB?

The MS8609A can not read out the wave-form of Occupided bandwith over GP-IB.

While operating the MS8609A, "Over Range" was displayed in the screen. How is this message cleared?

This message is an error statement that the input level to the instrument is exceeding the refernce level. This error is very similar to the Under Range error. The way to erase this message is be either changing the reference level or by pressing the "Adjust Range" key. Optimization of the input is automatically done by this key and the error message display disappears.

Can Option-05 Rubidium reference oscillator be installed into an MS8609A with Option-01 (Precision frequency reference)?

It is possible that Option-01 and Option-05 are installed simultaneously. If you use option-05, please connect the 10MHz output of option-05 to the 10MHz reference input with a BNC cable.

Is it possible to add option-08 Pre-amplifier to MS8609A with option-30 ?

It is not possible to add option-08 to MS8609A with option-30.

In the MX860805A/MX860905A software, what is the difference of PI/4 DQSK and the PI/4 Shift QPSK?

PI/4 DQSK(Differential QPSK) and the PI/4 Shift QPSK are the same. PI/4 Shift QSK is used by such standards as ARIB STD-28(PHS) and PI/4 DQPSK is used by IS-136 (TDMA). Another difference is that the QPSK modulations has four symbols and DQPSK with Differential coding has eight symbols.
