Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical Design Engineer

Anritsu Infivis Inc. seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. The responsibility of the Mechanical Design Engineer is to plan and design product applications. In addition, the position is responsible for organizing highly complex activities for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of engineering projects within the scope of our product capabilities within the Food or Pharmaceutical Manufacturing process. This position will work with inside sales to review and approve projects, manage in-house order integration with local suppliers and our core technology from Japan and perform local assembly and final testing processes. This role requires organization, complete system design talent, experience within the food and pharmaceutical packaging or processing equipment industry, and a commitment to manage a project from start to finish. Additionally, it requires the ability to go above and beyond to provide the customer with a professional service or product that satisfies a need or requirement beyond the initial sale.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees manufacture of products and process optimization
  • Interfaces with customers
  • Performs engineering assignments with clear and specified objectives and involves conventional types of plans and specifications. The Engineering Manager will review work for the application of sound professional judgment.
  • Performs design calculations and prepares equipment or material specifications
  • Reads design procedures and specifications leading to construction documents
  • Ability to perform designs using relevant design software. Assignments require the investigation of a limited number of variables with and supervisory assistance provided on unusual problems
  • May coordinate the work of designers and other technical support personnel
  • Works with inside sales to understand a customer requirement and offer a solution with estimated costs and lead times
  • Manages all in house orders that require integration of our core technology with a local solution
  • Performs hands-on light assembly and integration work
  • Conducts the final test and approval before shipment
  • Organizes order files or database for professional after-sales support of semi-custom solutions
  • Develops relationships with local vendors
  • Design solutions include conveyors, emission covers, reject systems, etc.
  • Create a small-scale production and assembly environment with production deadlines
  • Creates and designs standard conveyors to integrate locally for our entire product range to minimize shipping costs, add flexibility, and decrease lead times with an ultimate goal to increase sales and profit

Education and Experience Requested

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Four (4) years minimum experience in a design and production environment
  • Proven track record in system design, preferably with direct experience with UL, CE, OSHA, USDA, 3A, and sanitary design
  • Experience in risk analysis and maintaining safety documents
  • Experience with bill of materials (BOM) generation and spare parts/service documentation

Skills Requested

  • Proficient in AutoCAD (2D/3D), SolidWorks, or similar
  • Microsoft Applications (MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • SAP Business One or CRM experience, preferred

Summary / Objective

Anritsu offers a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial business development / sales leader within the pharmaceutical equipment segment. Our inspection technology is proven within the Japanese market and well suited for integration on pharmaceutical production lines in the Americas. The position is responsible for sales to the pharmaceutical market to include the identification of target pharmaceutical customers, and establishment of the overall sales channel framework to introduce and grow the sales of Anritsu’s business in the pharmaceutical industry. The role is an important strategic aspect of our ongoing growth strategies in the region.

Essential Functions (for the Pharmaceutical Industry)

  • Develops the overall pharmaceutical sales channel design and sales strategy for Anritsu USA
  • Develops and achieves sales targets through channel development, direct selling, and key account management
  • Conducts market research via the web; visiting potential customers and/or potential partners; attending industry trade association
  • meetings/seminars/conferences/trade shows/etc. to help define the target pharmaceutical market for the sale of Anritsu pharmaceutical products.
  • Interfaces regularly and shares market information with Pharmaceutical Business Development Manager – Japanese
  • Assists with the development of the Anritsu overall pharmaceutical strategy and product evolution
  • Identifies and establishes additional sales channels (distributors/representatives/OEMs) as appropriate
  • Motivates, manages and assists independent sales channel towards success
  • Provides constant communication of sales forecasts for corporate review via SFDC
  • Checks on competitive activity and develops new methods of attaining customers and vendors
  • Demonstrates equipment at trade shows and at customer sites
  • Independently demonstrates and trials equipment at Anritsu, trade shows, customer sites or in the demo van
  • Utilizes the demo van as needed inclusive of making appointments, driving to the site and operating the equipment
  • Acts as a resource in contract opportunities and proposals
  • Keeps informed of new products, services and other general information of interest to customers
  • Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
  • Has already built the relationship with the pharmaceutical manufacturers (our end users) to be able to get the appointments and visit easily.

A valid driver’s license is required.

Radiation Safety Officer and Trainer

Radiation Safety Officer and Trainer

Classification: Full-Time (Exempt/Non)
Salary: TBD, commensurate with experience
Reports to: Service Manager
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Date: May 19, 2022

Summary / Objective

The primary responsibility of the Radiation Safety Officer and Trainer is to be the resident expert in all matters of radiation safety training for Anritsu employees and customers. As the trainer, you will also be responsible for all technical training on all Anritsu equipment for new hires and customers training on site and in-house.

RSO RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for radiation safety compliance for the Americas with support of Zone 3.
  • Radiation safety program training of the assembly and service teams on processes and procedures with regards to radiation safety.
  • Lead by example, ensuring a safe and efficient work place is maintained at all times
  • Manage all state/technician registration requirements
  • Conduct radiation compliance on new equipment/product testing as needed
  • New hire/annual refresher radiation safety training
  • Manage on site survey requirements for new installs in the field
  • Report radiation survey’s to HQ in Japan as well as states when needed
  • Responsible for acquisition of accession numbers on new designed equipment when needed
  • File annual FDA reports
  • Subject matter expert when it comes to state/federal laws pertaining to our industry/equipment classification
  • Manage in-house/external dosimeter testing requirements
  • Manage Rad Meter calibration schedules
  • Maintaining contact information for all 50 states on radiation safety requirements
  • Manage all distributors radiation surveys
  • Fulfillment of training and experience requirements specified by Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for an RSO – maintain RSO qualifications.
  • Registration/notification of X-ray installations for all 50 states

TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES – CUSTOMER TRAINING FOR ALL PRODUCT LINES

  • Create presentations and ‘products’ that can be used to support customers on radiation training program, RSO compliance training, on both site and remote media (Website, CD, Zoom, Teams, etc.)
  • Technical trainer for all Anritsu equipment for new hires.
  • Technical trainer for customers on site and in-house
  • Create/Manage Master Training Plan utilizing computer based training methods with the help of technical support to advance technical knowledge of internal/external teams
  • Create/Manage In House Customer Championship Training Program for end users of equipment

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

This position supports all parts shipments (inbound and outbound) and general warehousing activities with some light mechanical and electrical assembly work. As with all positions within Anritsu, cross training and development is critical to everyone’s personal and overall company success. All activities are to be pro-active with a focus on exceeding the customers’ and our representatives’ expectation with a goal to make it easy for people to work with Anritsu, in other words deliver P.A.C.E (Positive Anritsu Customer Experience). This is more than a task related position as we welcome new ideas and plans that provide better efficiencies and effectiveness within the business.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receives items by unloading vehicles; accepting deliveries; unpacking containers
  • Receive and process deliveries through SAP:
    • Goods Receipt PO
    • Goods Issue
    • Inventory Transfers
    • Verifies items/counts against the record of shipment
    • Inspects package conditions
    • Noting discrepancies
    • Stock/Label in bin locations
    • Properly label Demo/Inventory Equipment
    • Pick pack and ship orders when required
    • Schedule LTL shipments
    • Crate Machines
  • Process returns to stock/process returns to Japan
  • RMA (return merchandise authorization) shipping/process control
  • Coordinate with the Service Group for RMA activities
    • Assist Service Group with parts/general requirements
  • Receive, log and properly store customers product samples, dispose as required
  • Help prepare tradeshow items
    • Shipping crate
    • Inventory packing list, etc.
  • Assist Engineering Group with testing/parts requirements/procurements
  • Perform monthly cycle counts
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness of warehouse work areas
    • Empty waste bins
    • Clean work areas daily
    • Clean shop floors
    • Clean Demo equipment
    • Clean aisles from debris
  • Assist with facility maintenance
  • General tasks, as needed

Estimate for time spend on each activity:

  • Shipping/Receiving 80%

SKILLS REQUIRED
