70 kHz to 220 GHz Single Sweep VectorStar VNA System Measurements
The continuous push to expand the limits of extreme broadband VNA measurements is driven by the need for accurate device characterization. Accurate device characterization is a primary enabler for first time design turns and fastest time to market response. Anritsu has continuously provided the industry’s broadest frequency coverage, recently spanning from 70 kHz to 145 GHz in a single sweep, using the Anritsu non-linear transmission line (NLTL) millimeter-wave (mmWave) modules. As the number of design challenges continue to rise there has been pressure to expand this coverage to the next threshold. This video describes how the VectorStar broadband VNA has accomplished this goal through the development of the new 70 kHz to 220 GHz single sweep VNA for on-wafer measurements. The video provides insights on how multiple bands can be combined to cover such a wide frequency range, how the system can be calibrated for accurate measurements with excellent dynamic range, and how the system can support existing lower band measurements without sacrificing VNA performance.
