Richardson, TX – September 19, 2016 – Anritsu Company will display test solutions and technologies that perform highly accurate measurements on high frequency designs under development for 5G systems, as well as for military and aerospace applications in its booth (#121) at EDI CON USA, September 20-22 in Boston. Advanced systems integrating vector network analyzers (VNAs) that extend to 110 GHz, as well as signal analyzers that provide engineers with the frequency coverage and measurement capability necessary to confidently validate their high frequency designs will be shown.
Anritsu will also unveil the Power Master MA24507A, an ultraportable USB power analyzer that enables simple, numeric, frequency based measurement of RF power from 9 kHz to 70 GHz that provides cost and performance advantages in many millimeter wave (mmWave) applications at EDI CON USA. The world’s first frequency selectable RF power analyzer, the Power Master MA24507A leverages Anritsu’s patented Shockline technology to address the growing number of test requirements in mmWave applications.
Many 5G designs will use E-band and millimeter wave (mmWave) frequencies and Anritsu will demonstrate test solutions for these applications. The Signal Analyzer MS2840A with the High Performance Waveguide Mixer MA2808A, along with the Signal Generator MG3697C, which can test wireless backhaul and automotive radar, will be shown. To test 5G components operating in the E-band, Anritsu will showcase the ShockLine™ 2-Port Performance VNA with 60-90 GHz frequency coverage. The Power Master MA24507A is also well suited for E-band designs.

A member of the Autotech Council, Anritsu will also be represented on The Connected Car: Not Your Father’s Oldsmobile panel. Craig Hendricks, Senior Technologist, Anritsu U.S. Automotive Focus Team, will discuss how to test connected car systems during the event, scheduled for Wednesday, September 21, at 2:40 p.m. in Room 207.
Business Development Manager Joe Mallon will present Using VNAs as a Tool for Signal Integrity in High Speed Digital Systems on Thursday, September 22, at 9:40 a.m. in room 208. Part of the Signal Integrity/Power Integrity track, the session will discuss how VNAs, which conduct measurements in the frequency domain, can be used to supplant the information that native time domain instruments, such as fast oscilloscopes, BERTs and Time Domain Reflectometers/Transmission instruments (TDR/TDTs) currently provide.
In the EDI CON USA Signal Integrity Zone, the Anritsu ShockLine 4-port MS46524B VNA will be paired with an Advanced Channel Modeling Platform from Wild River Technology. Further complementing the signal integrity platform will be the VectorStar® MS4647B 4-port 70 GHz VNA, which will be in the Anritsu booth. Another VectorStar – the ME7838A Broadband VNA system – which has wide single frequency sweep capability from 70 kHz to 110 GHz will be shown, as well.
