Richardson, TX – September 23, 2015
Anritsu Company introduces a series of LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) software packages, including support of 4 Carrier Aggregation (4CA) for its MT8821C Radio Communication Analyzer. With the software release, the MT8821C is the first single-instrument solution for testing LTE-A 4CA with 2x2 MIMO, and now supports testing of advanced Cat. 11 and 13 devices.
Installing the MX882112C-041 4CA Measurement Software in the MT8821C enables the analyzer to conduct fast and accurate RF receiver measurements for 4CA UEs. Adding the simultaneously released 4CA IP Data Transfer software (MX882112C-046) extends the MT8821C capabilities by allowing the analyzer to conduct data throughput tests up to 600 Mbps.
The third software release (MX882164C) is the new VoLTE voice-loopback option. With the software, engineers can conduct power-consumption and SAR tests during VoLTE calls and VoLTE voice function tests with the MT8821C. The latest upgrade of core LTE measurement software also enables 256QAM, TDD–FDD joint CA and UE Category 0 capabilities within the instrument.
Each software package leverages the overall design of the MT8821C analyzer. With eight transmitter ports and two receiver ports, a single system can perform LTE-A CA with up to four Component Carriers (CCs) using 2 x 2 MIMO, as well as two Component Carrier aggregation (2CCs) in the uplink. A built-in RF combiner simplifies configuration of complex test environments for LTE-A CA, while reducing test environment calibration procedures.
The MT8821C supports 2G to 4G wireless tests, making it a cost-effective single-instrument solution to validate UEs integrating multiple technologies. As well as supporting LTE-A, the all-in-one MT8821C operates as network simulator supporting LTE, W-CDMA/HSPA, GSM/GPRS/EGPRS, TD-SCDMA/HSPA, and CDMA2000® 1X/1x EVDO technologies. Covering 30 MHz to 6 GHz, it can conduct RF TRx tests in compliance with the 3GPP and 3GPP2 standards, as well as parametric and functional tests such as maximum throughput.
